Is there anyone on this board other than Lanierspots that believes this would have happened if Jay Jacobs was still the AD?

I do not. However, I don't subscribe to the "JJ is terrible" theory either. He did some good things. His main problem was the AD spot was a gentlemans club for a select few, and he maintained that system. No way would he rock the boat. Greene so far hasn't been tainted by the system. But it will come.

We would jump at the chance to play UGA two times in a row to fix the schedule. Then we would have Bama or UGA in JH every season and that is big for ticket sales.

I mean if that was the deal originally agreed to, then we should pay them back the back to back visits and be done with it

Was it? It was an SEC mandate, its not like we requested it. I believe a few schools did similar as well

Just saw this. Looks like we got a good deal....

Meanwhile, it does not appear that the Bulldogs will get to host Auburn at Sanford Stadium in back-to-back years. Georgia had to play at the Tigers’ Jordan-Hare Stadium in consecutive years in 2012-13 to accommodate conference expansion to 14 teams in 2012.
“I doubt that’ll ever happen,” said McGarity, speaking after the meeting in which his contract was extended by a year. “That was a one-time deal, unless the conference expands again. That may be another discussion. But this was the same situation as seven other schools that had to make changes to the rotation of their games. That was done strictly for conference realignment.”

It's probably something simple like the conference head shed wanting all the cross-division permanent opponents played on the same weekend.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's what we end up seeing at some point. It would make things more simple.

frick no. That moron was proud as a peacock to have flipped the UGA game in order to "keep our tradition." He got fricking railroaded at every single SEC meeting he attended because he is stupid.
We are having to play 3 road games in a row because we kept this game at the end of the season. Moving it gives us much more flexibility in our schedule.

For those pissed about losing tradition... tradition got fricked when we invited TAMU and Mizzou into the southeastern conference.
Fun facts:
- Fayetteville AR is only about 25 miles from the Missouri State line.
- Fayetteville AR is farther west than 90% of the state of Missouri (including Columbia).
- College Station TX might be barely 70 miles west of Fayetteville AR.

You would be in favor of bringing in those shite schools to fix Slive's incompetent.

I personally would be fine with never playing a regular season game west of Tuscaloosa. I do love the LSU game, be we have traditionally been an eastern school. We have more in common with FSU, CU, and Ga Tech than most schools in our division.

As I posted earlier, to get us back on a split schedule with UGA and Bama, it would take more than just playing UGA in one location in back to back years.
For Auburn, we would also have to play the rotating east opponent either home or away in two consecutive years, because the years the UGA game is in Auburn, the other is game is on the road and vice versa. If we didn't do this, we would end up with 5 SEC home games one year (3 west, plus UGA, plus east) and 3 the next (just the 3 west games).
If we have to play the rotating east team consecutive years either home/home or road/road, one of those east teams would have to double up somewhere as well to keep their 4/4 schedule from becoming 5/3.
All of this would apply to UGA as well, and eventually cascade through the entire conference. What you would end up with, eventually, is all 14 teams would have 2 consecutive years of playing both cross-divisional games either both at home and both on the road.

Arky shouldn't have been allowed in the SEC either.

Guys, guys, guys! You are de-railing the fevered anti-JJ agenda here! WTF DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING??!?!?
Posted on 2/21/19 at 6:49 pm to Fear The Thumb
In that case I wish JJ was still the AD

Uh huh.
At least not counting the multiple members of this forum that have been PMS'ing about Jay Jacobs for going on 9 or 10 years, right?
I guess we can forget all about those guys over all those many years (including you, amirite?).
Alright, HOMIE.
