I doubt it is just that cut and dry. I very seriously doubt that it was just that. I have to believe there was more to it. Maybe issues behind the scenes or interference from some other athletic department personnel or check writer maybe?
Could be Harsin just wants a full Boise BBQ gang and this is the first step
Its always nice to take the best route but experience tells me there is way more to the story than any of us Jboys know
I think every firing is going to bring out those that say "There must be more to it".
Harsin could give us the exact reason for firing, throwing CWill under the bus in the process, and someone is still going to come on here and say, there's GOT to be more to it.
Does it really matter? In the end, He wanted better production from his WR group, and he had been alluding to it for weeks. He made the change.

If he truly fired the WR coach for underperforming then the whole staff should be feeling the heat. You get that right? Penn State scored a TD because our linebackers weren’t lined up. All positions and coaches should be feeling the heat.
You can act like firing the coach is part of the business and it is, but firing a coach 4 games into their professional relationship is not normal That’s unusual and suggests if there wasn’t a 600,000 dollar mistake on the back end there must have been one on the front end. It makes more sense that Kiesau was not available to be hired months ago but now readily available, so Harsin was looking for a way to get his guy on board. Kiesau has been in meetings. He has been at practices. He was overqualified to be a staffer. He was probably hanging around just waiting for the promotion.

Finebaum had lots of laughs when Franklin was fired, compared him to Otis of Mayberry.
He will probably jump all over this and declare Franklin the all knowing guru of college football.

He knows his base.
Make no mistake though. One day he will turn on Bama and it will be glorious to see the anger and sense of betrayal in their tiny, spaced too closely together, eyes.

I was setting in the stands for his UT game at Auburn. I am still mad about that coaching performance.
People talk about the 3-2 game that year, but that UT game was worse IMO

It’s likely both. I doubt he makes the decision to fire Corn if our WRs are doing well. I also doubt he makes that decision without a capable person on deck.
Sucks for Corn, but on paper we upgraded at that coaching spot.

I’ve never been more embarrassed after a win and I was there for the JSU and Utah State games. The total yardage for both teams was just over 400 and it was like both teams wanted to lose.

I remember being at that UTk game. Chris Todd got benched for Kodi Burns and it was the loudest cheer the fans gave all night.
Just went and looked at the stats from that game and Chris Todd had a very Bo Nix-like performance.
14/23 93 yds 1TD 1INT

He’s been convicted of fraud.

That shitshow was 100% on Tuberville and Franklin. I’m not saying Chris was going to take us to a NC but we found out the next year he was very much capable of operating the offense. It’s truly astonishing that TF would ever utter any words relating to Auburn football under his breath let alone publicly in an article

Well one guy is the hyper-organized head coach and leader of a major SEC football team and the other is a disheveled unemployed fat slob. Which one has more credibility?

I boycott AL.com more than any other 'news source'
They are absolutely shameful, sensationalist, and over dramatic in essentially everything they cover.
The straw that broke the camel's back was their exploitative coverage of every single unvaccinated covid death across Alabama over the past month or so.

I still vaguely remember when Finebaum wrote the article about someone(him?) visiting Bears grave and talking about the coached that followed him pre Saban and how they hired a Shula. I wish I could find that article again it was classic.

Otis can suck a fat one. Anyone remember that white he had our oline doing presnap?

Has it been mentioned that he recruited Coach Corn while he was at Troy? Who cares about his biased opinion?

You noticed that too, huh?
Every day, the lead or the top news item includes exactly what you just said...

I never did get the allure of T.F. He's always seemed to have a greater opinion of himself than his record or results would suggest.
Hell, I can say some of the same things he's saying, which is more a knock on him than inflating my opinion. He should know more than I do - a lot more.
I've just never been a fan.

I don’t think anybody liked him. Only Loeffler was worse. Every time I saw the pictures of him with those books I felt bad for him though.

Well, he did say he deserved to be fired, so there's that.
I guess some guys are their own worst enemy.

He had some of the best high schools in the country running his offense - including a few in the state of Alabama. I'm surprised he said he deserved to be fired. I thought it was the consensus that he never got a fair shot at Auburn due to Tubs and the BBQ gang.
But anyway, he's extremely biased here and he has a few bad takes in that article.
