No. Cut loose a player and his family for doing something they absolutely knew could get Auburn put on probation for and didnt give a shite
Send them packing

Meh they just got caught. This kinda shite happens too often for me to stand on a moral high ground about it.

Not me. I am standing on my moral ground like a boss.
We dont need him anyway. 15-1

Which is why they should be turned loose. They are not bagman material.

Its funny, but also sad, when you go to the Auburn Arena, and now they have placed retired jerseys (including Orr and Person), so far up into the rafters on either end of the Arena, that you can't even see their name on the jersey.
Sooo, was that intentional?
It's a stupid place to hang them if you want them to be recognized. Retiring a jersey in sports is a big deal.

Everyone knows that real recognition at Auburn comes in the form of statues

Hey if the NCAA says a year, then I’m good with a year too.
He’s a projected late first rounder so it’s not going to matter anyway.

Hypothetically, say Austin Wiley decides he wants to have a 4 year career at Auburn...
Would sitting out this year be considered a redshirt year?

At this point I expect Pearl to be gone after the season
No upper-tier program would go near him with his history. And there's no possible reason at this point in his career to go to a mid-major.
Unless AU fires him with cause (and I see no reason for that), he's here for the duration.

If either loved AU they knew not to put both their family nor the university in danger.... scrub them from AU history

There is a lot of high horses in this thread. They got caught and are being punished. We named the field after Dye.

Shut up, dork.
Auburn basketball is in a great spot. It's more likely that Auburn Arena will eventually be named after Bruce than it is that he will be gone after this season.

I say Auburn should take down Person's jersey and take his number out of retirement as a last "frick you".

What happened with Dye has nothing to do with this. If his parents have jerseys hanging in the arena, why would they put auburn as risk?
Sorry but it’s not acceptable and no one should be ok with that.

It's almost the same thing. We named a field after the guy who over saw an historical low in our programs history. In truth, he got caught doing something everyone does.
It isn't much different. What happened sucked, but I doubt many of you would turn down 10k if someone was offering it to you and it wasn't against the law to take it.

If Wiley ends up staying then this would actually be a good thing. That's a big if though. If he were to play I don't see him coming back after the summer he had and where he's been projected.

Orr and Wiley love Auburn, no one should ever doubt that... They just never envisioned being caught since they trusted each other so much.
He can go to the combine, see if he will be drafted and then decide if he wants to come back to Auburn for some unfinished business.
I am holding out hope that Wiley plays next year.

I’m gonna disagree with you on this but it’s orobably not gonna matter. Against the law and against the rules in this case is the same thing.
And for the ones saying it’s OK because they didn’t think they would get caught.

Same way as I’m thinking about all the cutting him loose comments when the ruling body is saying a year suspension.

I'm guessing if the NCAA is allowing him back, they probably found the Wiley's did not intend to break rules. Maybe I'm being too gracious in my view, but I think they all love Auburn. I think Wiley will come back for another year to clear his name at Auburn. Him and his family seem like those kind of people.
