If that is true, he should be gone.

Isn't that what the FBI report said? DP took 6k.

AU gained no competitive advantage from the money...

The announcement said Auburn self reported recruiting violations as well. I have no idea what they were, but that would have constituted a competitive advantage.

I have no idea. But if he took 10K when he absolutely knew it was wrong, he should lose his eligibility. Its pretty simple

And again the NCAA find a way to screw us over in basketball. At this point I expect Pearl to be gone after the season and us to go back to the basement. No inside info just par for the course for AUBB.

What logic is there behind you saying this?

I’m pretty sure Austin was not involved in any of it. It was his parent(s) that took the money.

The reason Purifoy seemed less likely was because he was involved in everything.

Our players get caught taking money and losing eligibility but somehow it's the NCAAs fault

And you know this information how?

I think we have used that excuse once already.

I’m not re-reading that indictment, but I thought one player took money and one player’s parent took money.

I never read it. Just the NCAA ruling that he was out the rest of the year.

I think that’s the reason he’s not permanently ineligible.

I'm just glad the NCAA decided to rule on this halfway through the year
If they had announced this at the beginning of the season, Wiley would have been gone for sure. MAYBE with them waiting so long, Wiley will come back next year...

Just nod and agree. I don't need my soul completely crushed tonight

This was my understanding from reading it as well.

If I remember correctly, it only alleged parents getting paid, but 1 player (purifoy) met with the financial advisor in person and was told by person to keep it quiet.

Only way for Wiley's parents to redeem themselves with Auburn is to make Austin come back next year

yea but can Auburn trust him and his family not to do something else? He is not worth getting stung by the NCAA while our program is doing well

I say cut him and his family loose and move on

Wrong.

He is a great talent and hasn’t an opportunity to have a special year or two at Auburn.

He and his family messed up big time but I want them to redeem themselves and see Austin play for Auburn and hoist a SEC Championship trophy.

Can you imagine how much it will irritate our rivals for us to win with a controversial player?

Epic.

Cut loose one of Auburns best female athletes of all time and another father who is an alum?

They fricked up, but they still love Auburn. Wiley committing to AU over many other top programs put us on the map
