Yeah I agree. He completed one back shoulder dime to the 2 yard line and it couldn’t have been any better defended.

Every game I’m getting more and more curious to see Gatewood really get an opportunity to run our offense. Nix has done a fine job, but through four games, I have a hard time believing the passing between him and Gatewood can be that different. It really would be interesting to see Gatewood with the full ability to pass and run.

I think that Nix DOES make better passing DECISIONS, from practice and what little we have seen him throw in most of our games now.

I still think that Nix is just more polished as a QB and whatever the coaches throw at him, or what pressure comes to the position, Nix shows a more capable way of making the right decision, and mentally doing the right things.

Hard to not see that after 2 NON home games. If we did not have a strong D, it might be a different story, but when called upon Nix has made the right decisions.

Gatewood may get his chance, and he has done well in the moments he is in there. But I like how we are playing them...

Marlon and Coe have played well

Neither did well pass rushing. Neither had a sack or a QB hurry and only Coe had a TFL.

I have to agree with your assessment w/ the interaction you're having with some posters.

The only thing the ends have done well, is when they do get outside pressure, it has forced the QB to move up into the strength of our D, the tackles where Brown, Coe, and Tuesdale have swallowed the QB when that happens.

THe problem is that the ends as you have stated do NOT get any kind of bull rush or a swim move inside to nail that QB. Too many times Mond had rhythm where he could complete 7-8 passes in a row. That is unacceptable.

And for Kat and even Moultry to jump offsides when they clearly can see the ball to know when to attack..is undisciplined.

DOn't know if ends can get better, and it doesn't seem like we have any in the wings, although I noticed Derek Hall played more in the Kent St game, but got injured so couldn't play yesterday.

1. No inside zone. Run game was diverse.

2. Slant for TD

3. Gatewood package includes passes

4. Defense is really good

5. We missed some shot plays, but they were open.

1. Watching the game was much easier with a gullet full of rum.

2. Gus called a great game. Offense stalled a few times, but tip of the cap to aTm for that. Coordinated an amazing drive to answer aTm's scoring drive in the fourth. Clutch.

3. Excellent punt and kick off coverage. Thank God

4. We have the best tackling D i have seen at Auburn. Missed tackles are few and far between.

5. Steele needs to be more aggressive on third and long situations early in the game.

I was in DC for work over the weekend and wasn’t able to watch our game, just a play by play update. I’m watching the game now and I had the exact same thought.

I like Bo a lot, but he ain’t exactly tearing things with his arm. I wouldn’t mind seeing Gatewood get an entire series with the full playbook to see how things go. Maybe we see that in the MSU game?

Does anyone have a link to the full game on YouTube? I was doing shiplap in my daughter's nursery, and didn't get to see much.

Bo has been solid. We aren't asking him to do much but since 1H of game 1 he hasn't been turning the ball over and has made 2 HUGE throws when we asked him to step up at key moments.

Bo has not turned the ball over in 14 quarters. He's not hitting all the throws but he's damn sure making the right reads. People are only looking at the passing yards. I think the reason he is playing over Joey is that Gus trusts him to not turn it over, and that is a very big deal.

All the reports from fall camp was Nix was turning the ball over and Joey wasn't, so I don't see how that argument works.

The argument works because Nix is not turning the ball over in games. Your talking reports from camp, and I'm talking actual games with no turnovers.

Bo may not be turning the ball over, but he’s not completing passes that go 10+ yards down field either (0 last game.)
But in Oregon game he was
He’s being protected right now, but he will have to be unleashed soon.

Another reason I have not liked our game plan with Nix. We need to be giving him easier throws so he can get into a rhythm.

He and Schwartz just need to get their timing down. As I and a few others have stated, the fact that he's overthrowing as opposed to under-throwing is a good indicator of his potential to fix it. It seems like Gus has figured out some wrinkles that allow our running game to open up which should help our passing game, too. Excited to see what he dials up for State this weekend.... shitting my pants in anxious anticipation like always, though.

One thing I did think Nueheisel got right is that Bo just needs to slow it down. He has had more time to make better throws but rushes it. I think that could happen moving forward.

I don't remember those reports at all

I thought there were reports that Joey had several bad days and multi-turnover days, and that was right around the time the tide seemed to shift to Bo

I could be wrong, my memory is shite
