Great news about TurDucker committing to AU

Looks like a really good pick up at TE

How many TE's does that give us now? 5, 6? Or is he going to play offensive line. I dont know him

Come on Lanier, you arent starting that debate again are you. Our TEs may split out, they may be in the slot, they may be in the backfield (which does make one wonder why we are recruiting others for those positions), our TEs may play defence in the nickel or dime, our TEs may assist the graduate assts, our TEs may help in the concession stands, our....

Heck we may even have six of them lined up at the same time, just go check out how that worked with ND and bama, but edit the tape for when they say "Book on the run for his life, Book sacked, Book being punished" its a pretty short highlight tape.

Good to keep the momentum going. Hopefully Wooden blossoms like McCreary and outperforms his rating.

Not playing OL

Shenker - SR
Fromm - SO
Deal - SO
Frazier - SO
King - FR

Pegues moved to DL. MRD will be the 5th guy in that room once Shenker graduates. Seems like a reasonable amount of TEs if Harsin uses the position

From the vantage point of a fan, I can’t. And we enter that murky area where we say “trust the coaches”.

There’s a scenario where Wooden is, on their board, in similar standing. Which is totally possible. But the offer sheet is way different which paints the picture for me.

You've followed recruiting long enough to pick up on cues, no?

Emory Floyd:
Auburn leads, Auburn leads, Auburn leads, visits South Carolina once and all of a sudden Auburn isn't in his Top 3, then he immediately commits to South Carolina.

That's a kid that wasn't a take. Now on perception, we look like we just "got beat" by another brand new head coach at a crappier school and seemingly only took Wooden (a lower rated player) because his brother plays here. In reality, you should be excited because what this actually implies is that we like Wooden a lot more than his current ranking suggests, and they were willing to take his commitment.

This is basically confirmed by Keith Niebuhr - he posted that that they had TWO other Safeties ready to commit who they wouldn't take, but instead took Wooden. Emory Floyd is obviously one, the other might be the Ja'Kobi Albert kid from Alabama.

Wooden has a good frame for safety and from what I read during his camp at Auburn was that his football IQ was very very good and Mason was very impressed w/ him.

That may have been some more of the reasoning behind them shifting from Floyd to Wooden.

We will likely have some positive momentum going into the season. If we go on the road to Penn State and LSU and win?

If we could beat LSU in their house --- that would give me hope for years!

But even if we do not, we will have a season under our belts so recruits can see how they could be utilized. As long as we look well coached and develop a clear identity on defense and offense, I think recruiting will improve. But, like Lanier said, some have pretty unrealistic expectations of the AU program if you think we just naturally bring in top ten classes.

KN just hinted there’s another commit coming today and an AU recruiting staffer tweeted out a “WDE!” again as well.

I got news for you. This UGA is not the old UGA. wE are still not going to beat them with any regularity. They are recruiting at a level we have never seen and have more talent on the scout team than we do on our starting team

Robertson just committed lol. I'm less excited about this than Wooden lol.

I hope he can just make the 2 deep. At least its another body in the room after Hal Presley left though.
