SMU got a 5* WR today. Let that sink in.
He’s a 4* and not even close to being a 5* on 247 and Rivals

This is some liberal level stupid right here. The problem is I'm almost always right. Not that it takes a genius to see what is going on right now, it's amazing what blinders people are able to put on.
Honestly, what does putting your head in the sand do for you? Do you think it makes you a better fan? Earn some extra Weagle points online? You can blame Gus, Harsin, the AD, the president whoever you want. The reasons are irrelevant but the fact is our program is an absolute disaster right now.

Great, when is the last time a team with mid level 3 stars won it all?

The program that you perceive Auburn to be will never win a championship.
The truth is under Gus the gap widened between us and Alabama, Georgia, and LSU. During that time Texas A&M ascended. It's entirely possible we could continue falling behind and start approaching Tennessee territory if Harsin doesn't work out.
However, we've hired our guy for the time being, and he has to have time to build his program for his work to be judged fairly. From all accounts he's rebuilding this program from the ground up to reflect his vision. In the meantime, we as fans get to sit back, watch, and hope for the best. No one knows what the next year will look like. I'm concerned with recruiting so far, too, but I'm not hitting the panic button before he's even coached a game.

This is exactly what I've been sounding the alarm on for years while people on here got mad at me and kept their head in the sand.
As for your second paragraph, you're probably right and I'm probably too negative right now given he hasn't coached a game for us yet, but it is pretty hard to have much to be excited about right now.

2022 Commits
4* QB Holden Geriner | 247|
3* DB Jarrell Stinson | 247|
3* LB Powell Gordon | 247|
There's only three commits why so many chicken little's when not nary a snap has been played. It's not like there's an overabundance of 3's or anyone knows who'll want on board by December. I'm still holding out for a Merry Flipmas with just a solid season.

My issue right now is we don't seem to be in serious contention for many 4* players. And 3* players we felt good about are picking schools we have no business losing recruits to. I don't think there's a 22 5* even on our radar. So it's difficult to be optimistic at the moment because I can't see what the plan is right now. It feels like in previous years we'd be recruiting 2-3 times the number of players that I've seen us seriously connected to.

Trended that way for a bit. Hate it but maybe Eason will stay on him

He’s missable, IMO. I’ll update the thread some in a few days after everyone has had their say. The news gets lost otherwise

And btw, let everyone vent here. Recruiting mostly sucks right now. That can be true without everyone going into a tailspin.

Without question the worst of the recruiting sites.

This is the point you should have made, although there’s a pretty good chance Geriner ends up getting another bump in ratings in the future.

Weird choice, but I guess he's hoping if things don't work out he can switch to football there? I thought all along he was a baseball guy though, I just thought he could go pro.

He might still go pro - committing to Bama baseball doesn't take that off the table. The MLB Draft starts on Sunday. He's not a top prospect, but obviously a team can entice him to turn pro with the right amount of money (although I have no idea how signable he is considered to be).

quote:True. I just assume if he went ahead and committed he's not liking what he's hearing about the draft. Still seems like he would go to a better baseball school though, but I guess you can't the bama out of him.
