Rose Bowl just signed off on it. Does Freeze get us there by 2024 when it starts?

1. 6 highest-ranked champs get AQs
2. Next 6 highest ranked teams get At-Larges
3. Byes to th top 4 conference champs

We are going to continually witness 8 teams that don’t belong.

More like 6. Did Cincinnati belong last year? That 4th spot is almost always hotly debated.

Hopefully a 12 team playoff means that we don't have to watch all the same teams year after year.

At least most control their own destiny instead of ending up like us in 2004

Why does the Rose Bowl continue to have so much power? Anybody ever been to a game there? That stadium is absolutely awful.

Disagree. Incredible place to watch a game in the late afternoon.

Different strokes and such

And regular season games that used to be huge but will now be largely meaningless other than seeding purposes.

Been there once and have tried (mostly successfully) to wipe it from my memory. Setting and weather are both gorgeous. In that respect, probably as good a gameday experience as there is.

Stadium itself is awful. Walk through a long, low, cramped, and narrow tunnel to get in. It's so tight as I remember they only let a certain number through at one time. Closest I've ever been to spelunking. Stadium sloped is so low and wide that you have to stand the entire game to see anything.

Hate it, but there may be as many as three who don't belong this year.

On the flip side, those who don't belong, ahem 2017 UCF, will get their comeuppance. Or, at least they'll have to earn their natty by doing something other than beating a depleted, dinged up, and unmotivated team.

Hopefully the expanded playoff brings more parity to CFB… but that’s prob wishful thinking.

If by awful you mean the best setting in sports then sure.

I'd be fine with a 6 team playoff - top 2 get byes - but 12 teams is crazy. Look at teams 7-12 right now. Someone make a good argument about why those teams should be in a playoff.

Now this allows teams like the 2017 team to control its destiny as an at large. I expect 2 losses to be the cut off for the last spots
