The only ones in the know are Fagg and HY with Fagg dropping an occasional name to the media to gauge reaction on social media.

Reason #1 why the list is the same as last time in the media...

My source used to be amazing during the Long years. He doesn't know a damn thing these days, and he was very close to the program for a long time. I actually like how it is now.

Does anyone remember exactly when we really started hearing Musselman's name in the basketball search.

Sure, I know his name was out there from the beginning just as logical candidates, but it felt like Sampson took all of the oxygen out of the room until about the last week or so, then it all went quiet like it has now.

If I remember correctly it came from Nevada media first then national guys, which is usually the case. Local media of school doing the hiring is usually last to know.

Seems like it was about a week to week and a half before. Right after his name came up Sampson seemed to look less likely a little more each day. I think that's about the time when he wanted to make his kid coach in waiting stuff started coming up.

Also about the same time people started giving up on Beard because he kept winning.

Pork-a-tarian across the street just announced that we have hired a coach and will be announced Monday.

In other news, the US has evacuated Saigon, and Reagan lost the nomination to Ford.

The name being passed around is it will be Matt Campbell. So its probably actually Lane Kiffin.

I'm gonna go with Ernie Denardo. Led the California Bulls to 4 consecutive Championship Bowls in the NAFL. Watched it myself on the HBO

Just having fun here but what would you guys think about this staff?

HC - Kiffin
OC/OL coach - Pittman
QBs - Clint Trickett
RBs - Traylor
WRs - Stepp
TEs - Lunney

DC/DBs - Chizik
DEs - Caldwell
DTs - Ingram
LBs - Lance Thompson
Another DB coach for recruiting

Not sure if there would be that many holdovers and not sure how Pittman would work as both OC and OL coach (the offenses he’s been in aren’t really the same as Kiffin’s scheme) but man that would be a really good recruiting staff. Coordinators don’t typically recruit though which is Pittman’s best attribute.

Yes I think so. During one of the last coaching searches Pork said something about being at a specific location eating, Wally then referenced a similar story on the radio. Could be coincidence but would make sense as neither really know anything.

Start paying attention to Tulsa reporters late weekend.

No.

That guy is like 34 years old and has been wrong about everything in the last 3 years.

He plays odds.

The couple guys that I talk to in situations like this (grew up with them) are staying silent. One of them even told me "Don't call me, I'll call you". Which leads me to believe that something is probably happening (of course there is something happening though), but what "that" is I have no idea. The other I don't think has heard anything new and said if he hears anything he'll get back with me.

I go fishing and duck hunting with these dudes. They were at my wedding and shite (just for context).

Monday-Tuesday if I were to lay down odds, and this is just Krieg speaking, is probably at 50% or below. Fuentes, Fickell, Norvell and Kiffin both stand a good chance of playing the following weekend. Campbell, Butch, Leach are all available after this weekend.

Now for Norvell/Fickell. Sigh..... AAC Championship shenanigans. Memphis has lost one game. Cincinnati has lost none. They play in the last game of the regular season against one another. If Memphis loses and Navy wins, then Norvell is done until bowl season. If Cincinnati loses, they will play Memphis again at the Liberty Bowl the following weekend for the AAC Championship (they are in different divisions and Memphis will have won the head-to-head for home field advantage). If Memphis and Navy lose, then Memphis will go to Cincinnati for the Championship due to the lead-to-head loss.

So Fickell and Norvell could possibly be coaching against each other December 7th. If it were either of those in that situation, the announcement would be the following Monday (more than likely).

God almighty the AAC situation sucks even though the hogs would probably finish no higher than 4th in either division.
