Campbell, Rhule, and probably Fickell are out. Seems like all three have said no. Kiffin, Clark, and Fuente are all in contact. Norvell is a wild card until after Florida State settles their head coaching decision. This is all information I got tonight. Campbell and Rhule both said no, and Fickell was a "I'll think about it."

Leads me to believe that Fickell is going to wait for a Big 10 spot. Possibly Nebraska. But, it was expected. Fickell turned down West Virginia and Louisville last year, and I think his main target will either be Penn State or Michigan State if they open. Michigan State looks like the most likely option.

Important to note that Campbell is heavily interested in Florida State. Norvell could easily fill that spot, as the Big 12 really fits his style of play.

Kiffin seems to be the leader still. After Marshall's loss, seems like it we may not see Kiffin for an extra week. I was told that Kiffin had an interview, and that he will have another shortly.

Watch out for Justin Fuente. I have been told this is a very serious candidate. Fuente is a dark horse, and many will say "Why will he make a lateral move?" Don't underestimate the power of the SEC to attract coaches. Bret B left a good Wisconsin team to make a lateral move to Arkansas. His buyout is 3 Million. Kiffin's is 2 million, for reference. He currently makes 1.4 million a year, which could easily triple with a move to Fayetteville.

Watch out for Bill Clark too.

I like Kiffin. I really do. I think he will probably will be our next head coach. However, beware of the smokescreen going on here. We all know that HY has been keeping this as private as he can. I had tons of information last coaching search, and this one it has been about a 1/4 of the last one. I wonder if HY has been telling the sources I have that he really wants Kiffin so it will cause a smokescreen for the next hire. I believe it is Kiffin, but most importantly, so do my sources. But my gut feeling says something squirrelly is going to happen. Fuente is going to come up more this week. Something tells me that it will come down to those two if Norvell continues to have no interest in Arkansas.

That is all I know currently. Sorry if there are any spelling errors or anything. Running low on sleep. As some know, I have been dealing with the loss of a close family member. He passed away early Sunday morning. Thank you guys for all the prayers and thoughts, really meant a lot. We all got to say our goodbye's Saturday evening.

Forgot to mention, I was told that there is no contract yet, but "they have a good idea of who their guy is going forward", and expect an announcement of the new head coach a week from today (Monday 11/25/2019). However, i am curious if it is in fact Kiffin, if FAU plays in the conference championship, if it will be pushed back. Not sure, but will update.

Honestly I am ok with Fuente. Norvell posturing for the FSU job seems like he is out due to the wait. I hate that we have to wait for kiffin though.

Though if this is the list kiffin, fuente, clark, and a top choice of norvell, but we are his second choice. I am very happy with any of these. I still have my favorites, but I am fine with any of them.

Just pull the trigger on Kiffin and quit screwing around.

Hoping they have already done so and are buying cover until he can announce. It sucks Marshall lost. If it's Lane that probably cost us a week, but if we don't announce a coach by Sunday after the Mizzou game it's probably him.

So if I'm looking at things correctly. 6 and 1 FAU plays 5 and 2 Southern Miss. If FAU comes up short I believe Marshall holds the tie breaker over FAU assuming they win this week.

If you're a Kiffin guy we need to root for him to lose this week. If he is our guy we will have to wait another week if they get to the conference championship.

I don't like Fuente. He's had some really bad losses and seems to hang his hat on a couple of good seasons. It wouldn't surprise me if VT fans would be happy to see him leave.

I am also suspicious of him wanting to jet from a good job at VT, and come to arkansas. Gives me flash backs of bert (someone he should have lost to. Yet by his luck the team had already quit on bert. Just like the game before at mizzou.)

I'm going to go ask VA tech fans if they would be mad to see him go.

Archer is usually pretty spot on, only thing he has missed was the name of the AD but got the day of the announcement right. Called Morris and Muss I believe.

Fuente scares the hell out of me.

Fuente is basically Norvell 1.0, with Norvell being the 2.0 latest update for optimization. I don't think he was ever a great fit at VT culturally and may be out of his element in the region, but he was the "true rebuilder" of Memphis. We could do a lot worse, although I'd still rather have Norvell.

I haven't heard much about him from the folks I talk to, more so seen him mentioned from outside sources and this Archer guy.

I also think Kiffin is in the driver's seat right now, just so much smoke there from so many angles. I actually think he'd come before their conference championship game if they make it, he knows that he would have to hit the ground running on recruiting and really take advantage of the portal (this part is just my opinion).

I don't think we've done more than throw out peripheral feelers to Clark at this point, but there is supposedly a good indicator he listened. I don't think he's a serious candidate right now.

Fickell was very much in the mix and being seriously considered, unless something has changed in the last 48 hours. I don't know if we were just seeing IF he would come and what it would take or if it was a serious negotiation, but something went down. I'd probably listen to Archer here.

Leach is still MIA.

As far as WANT goes (rumor-wise):

1. Kiffin
2. Norvell
3. Fuente
4. Fickell
5. Clark?

Reality seems like you could swap Norvell and Fuente on the list.

Do people really believe we are spending staff effort and resources putting up "smokescreens"?

I like Kiffin and Norvell over Fuente. Him not really lighting it up at VT is concerning.

I guess they have have some “buts” and in reality, all would be good hires, for some reason I have a good feeling about kiffin.

Fool me once I guess.

I could be way off base here, but I feel like Fuente was the beneficiary of great quarterback play (Paxton Lynch) when he was at Memphis, and took advantage of that and went to VT when his QB left. Until this year he has been very underwhelming in an absolute dogshit conference and division. The ACC coastal and SEC west aren't even on the same planet. To me that would be a very underwhelming hire, similar to the Morris hire.

Kiffin seems like the guy.

How many resources are required to tell the hillbillies in the local media some bullshite name and let them spread it across the internet like wildfire to sell subscriptions?

Just to reiterate on Fuente..

The 4 years before he got there Virginia Tech was:

7-6
8-5
7-6
7-6

Since he's arrived Virginia Tech is

10-4
9-4
6-7
8-3

They play Virginia Friday at noon for the ACC Coastal Division Title.

Bud's retiring after this season from what I've heard, so that may be a reason that Fuente is looking to move on.

Can’t blame him after we fricked him over 2 years ago by hiring a guy who he had made his bitch.
