Thanks.

I also appreciate your succinct explanation of why this is our worst class in history.

That wasn't part of the question. You just threw that in there.

If Arkansas only signed one player and ranked dead last in the country in recruiting rankings, but the player was a 5 star, would you say it's not the worst class ever because the average star rating is 5? If it was a defensive player, would you say it wasn't the worst class because Bert never signed any 5 stars on defense?

That logical jump

Where's the jump? It's pretty straightforward.

Are you saying you would call a 1 man 5 Star signing class with 1 scholarship available the worst class ever?

Life tip for you, careful calling people idiots bud. You're having a lot of trouble with a simple question.

Rather than debate whether this is the worst class in history or not, let’s get to the real point. You are criticizing the current staff for celebrating the players that they brought in. Your reason for criticizing is that it is the “worst class in the history of the program” while ignoring the fact that it’s Bielema’s fault that the current staff couldn’t sign a full class. It’s being pointed out to you that the current staff did a fine job, given the obstacles in their way, by signing a class with a better than normal (for Arkansas) average player rating.

We signed 11 defensive players last year (and that's about right for most years) vs 10 this year. It's essentially the same sample size and Morris whipped Bret's arse at getting defensive recruits.

Its really not Beilema's fault since the numbers are low from him doing what he said he was going to do.

Recruit players, redshirt those who weren't ready as freshmen, allow walkons to earns scholarships, then graduate players.

Chad was more than able to sign a full 25, and make the numbers work themselves out by forcing players to transfer or not renewing scholarhips for the following year.

Chad isn't being forced to keep recruits already signed and on the team due to impending APR sanctions, in fact Bert had the APR in a position where Chad could have processed as many players as he'd like after spring practice, something Bert didn't have as much luxury in regards to the APR when he took over for Petrino.

Your example of 1 is arguing in bad faith.

Are you saying his example of 1 player is silly? Crazy thought.

What kind of logic is that? It’s not his fault because he said he was going to do it?

If the new staff came in and processed 12-15 players it would be a pretty bad PR move. Stone would probably be marching on the Broyle’s center with a pitchfork

Who would Bielema have processed from Petrino’s leftovers, the guys that were responsible for the only decent defense he managed to field?

It's not so much APR. With scholarships now being 4 years guarenteed, it's not as easy as it used to be. As I understand it, you now either have to concoct a medical reason to take the player off scholarship, the player has to get in trouble, or force the player out the door with a threat of sitting on the bench. You can't just go pulling scholarships.

It wouldn’t be his “fault” if he had done everything else he said he was going to do. Like win an SEC championship.

But since doing what he did put us in the position we’re currently in, it’s definitely his fault.

And no coach is going to come into a team and process 15 players he hasn’t even seen practice in person.

Petrino's attrition rate from the prior classes allowed more than enough room.

So it's Bert's fault he recruited kids who stayed out of trouble and went to class.

He's going to have to process 2-4 for sure depending on NCAA rulings.

He wouldn't have to process 15 players either.

Its laughable that he was handicapped because of Bert, yet he did a great job considering 80% of the talent signed early. Talk about trying to have it both ways.

It's an example used to show that average star rating doesn't trump team rankings. In the example the average star rating would be 5 for the lowest ranked class in the country. Understand now?
