Tennessee played for the sec championship just before kidding was hired. Iowa State probably played for a conference title around WW II

3 points off 5 trips to the red zone, if I remember correctly.

I'm not sure why so many of our fans are having such a hard time with this concept

After looking at their record, today was their only loss that was more than 1 score this year. Not bad I guess.

Gus would've won one of those 4 1 score losses though. Yall know it.

He won as many games at Tennessee (an SEC school) as Campbell has won this year in a weaker conference.

He will recruit much better, and I believe has better contacts for staff.

Both choices require some gambling. I suppose it comes down to what you value more. I personally value the recruiting of Kiffin more than anything

Coach A got fired at a blue blood program and had never left a job on good terms.

Coach B built a G5 team and is now winning at an historically awful P5 program.

And you prefer the former?

Houston Nutt won 9 games and the Cotton Bowl in 2009.

Any other names or facts from a decade ago that you'd like to pull out of your arse?

Can we not do the Gus shite again please? He IS NOT, and WILL NOT ever coach here. He got lucky as hell on several occasions today and it saved his job, and put him back in AU fan's good graces for another couple weeks. Otherwise they have wanted him out, why would we want their sloppy second rejects?

Regardless he ain't happening so we might as well not even discuss it, unless you're just trying to troll.

Ok, I would love to have Campbell... and I would be happy with Kiff as well.

But... but... Yes Kiff was fired by USC, his dream school...But to be fair, weren't they on Scholly limits, and bowl bans, and etc. I believe so. Which does give pause as to assigning blame.

As for leaving Tenner, again it was his dream job period.

After going to Bama their program changed for the better from his offensive mind and schemes. Even with his friend running the O there now. He wasn't fired at Bama. He had already taken the FAU job and was recruiting already while trying to handle the duties for the NC at Bama. Saban told him to go on... Do you remember the outcome of that NC game? Hmmm

Is he a bit childish still? probably, will he cause a few PR headaches, Possibly. Is he better than anyone we have had since Petrino. Most definitely.

Yes to Campbell
Yes to Kiffin
Yes to Norvell

Down the list a bit for me Leach...

I would be fine with the first three, and cringe and enjoy most of the last.

Yes,as matter of fact.

Programs weren't willing to pay a million dollars a win to coaches no matter where they came from, especially when the looked as unorganized and sloppy as they did tonight.

I despise Auburn, but Im glad Gus won today. Now they wont fire him and open up a job better than ours.

On that note, though, I hope Gus gets his shite pushed in playing in whatever bowl game they go to. That will be fun watching their fans bitch about him the next 8 months.

Tend to agree with this sentiment and assuming we don't have to go further than that list, I think we are going to end up happy with who we get

SC/Kiffen did their best to push the bulk of the punishment down the line, they had the option to rip the band-aid off, but instead thought they could work around the sanctions. This partially explains the decline while he was there record wise.

One of the things that really bothering me about Kiffin, is the mismanaging the locker room so bad that players were fighting before the bowl game. And what is one of the apparent big problems at Arkansas? Locker room! That combination doesn't instill confidence.

Just the same I'll give whoever it is a fair chance.

With that said, too damn many lines being drawn by fans before anything actually happens. At least not publicly.

He had a bunch of stupid arse rules and would jump all over players for the stupidest things, similar to the coach we just fired.

Has he changed his ways? Who knows with the coverage fau Garners, but it has been shown time and time again that stuff will fly at lesser programs but doesn't work at major programs with major talent.

Lane Kiffin has not beat any team ranked higher than #73 since he has been at FAU. And his recruiting classes have ranked 60th, 75th, and 61st.

This is the big one, yes. Seriously, go look at Iowa State's previous records and tell me this guy isn't working a miracle there.

So, making Iowa State competitive for 4th or 5th in the Texass 12, in his 4th year, makes posters idiots for questioning whether he is the home run, 5-6-7 million dollar man to bring the Razorbacks back to respectability. If he is the guy, I hope that is exactly what he does, but damn we are talking about getting into a pretty damn ritzy neighborhood in pay. Forgive me for thinking that much money should buy some outstanding qualities. I’d be right with you if the guy had played for or won the B12.

So for him to be a quality hc he would need to win the big12 at Iowa State?

If he did that, we couldn't afford or get him, he'd be in talks with Michigan, SC, Auburn, Jerry Jones for his team, etc right now.
