their way through the process. One is 5 years/$18 million and the other is 6 years/$31 million. The last time I got this info the numbers were similar. Before, I thought the targets were Kiffin and Campbell and I still do although the 6/31 is enough to get lots of guys.

I think the names and numbers are correct for each. Everything's gonna be ok. I just wonder how long HY is giving Campbell to make his decision.

I just made a similar thread after reading the same stuff on 247.

Guy's on there saying Campbell has till Monday and then its Kiffins job.

Supposedly, HY wants to get the deal done before all the other schools get rolling on their hires.

If you follow down that thread another says he has heard we will accept up to 3 no's from campbell. With a max of 7 mil. That Jerry is stepping up his game, and we will not sell ourselves short on assistant's salaries either.

If he does not sign. We are calling kiffin who is ready to sign right now. It will not go any further than that.

I'll be happy with campbell, but I still feel Kiff is the better fit

I wasn’t a math major but I’m pretty sure 31/6 isn’t 7.

We are going to wait for Campbell to answer tonight/tomorrow. If yes we hit a walk off grand slam in game 7 of the World Series. If he says no, we offer Kiffin and get a grad slam hire.

I've already expressed the exact same sentiment. Ive already decided kiffin is the best fit here. Campbell/kiffin is like beard/muss. Both will win here, and win big. One is the better fit.

If true, You know this program is beyond end stage cancer to be willing to throw (up to 7 mill per) at Campbell.

That is about 5.2 mil, but the # danny was saying was around 6 million.

Another guy said 7 is probably max, but I am assuming the lower # has higher guaranteed money.

I would agree with you if it was fuente or leach.

Matt Campbell is james franklin at vandy. Dude is a stud.

Would anyone here be mad if we were hiring james Franklin? Probably not.

I love what Campbell has done at ISU, but I just don't think he is worth the $7M price tag if were to get to that. I think Kiffin would be the better hire at that point and go put more money into the assistant pool for like a Sam Pittman, Lance Thompson, and etc kind of staff.

Could be 7 Million with incentives, or use to 7 at the end of the contract. If he does well, then 7 Million a year would be no problem.

I want to say that the 7 mill is from a different poster. Whom says he is hearing similar info, and that he was told that is the max he believes we will offer. Now whether that is true or not idk. It seems the 6-6.5 # danny alluded to seems more correct. That we will not skimp on assistant salaries either. Even if we pay more. There has been rumor that more big money boosters have emerged willing to pay to get this thing fixed. If the right guy's are the ones getting money.

Remember we offered more than auburn for gus.

That’s the market for our division. $6.5 would put him at 4th in our division maybe 5th if O gets a big raise.

Would you rather have Gus, O or Jimbo? I wouldn’t.

You can get Kiff, who granted may not have as high of a ceiling but will get the program back in track on a talent and coaching boost alone, without putting your neck out financially and you have a chance at all these elite coaches that he already knows and you have $$ left over to really pay them well. You could pay Lane $3-3.5 mil on an prove it deal and still protect yourself.

I know Campbell is a good coach, but damn, if you're having to entice the dude with up to 6 or 7 million, then does he really want to come here???

Kiff is out there basically recruiting for you already and by all accounts wants the hell out of the job and has for a decade.

According to Irwin, that's why Muss got the job over trying to chase Beard, who was willing to listen after the season, but HY desired a guy who was all in from the get go.
