It was Little Rock and IIRC Kareem Hunt was the star RB for Toledo and he didn't even play because suspension/injury.

What am I missing about him? Winning at Toledo, and making a decent team out of Iowa State? Is that it? Has he recruited tremendously well? Is there anything outstanding about his offense or defense? What is it?

Well the fact that ISU hadnt won 8 games since 2000 and he did it in year 3&4 and will do it this year with a bowl win is pretty fricking impressive. Or the fact that Toledo averaged 5.8 wins the 6 years before he got there and he averaged 9 wins a year.

He's beaten 5 ranked teams in the last three years, including two in the top 10.

What's Kiffin's best win? Western Kentucky?

This is the big one, yes. Seriously, go look at Iowa State's previous records and tell me this guy isn't working a miracle there.

I'm aware Arkansas lost to Toledo.

You are unaware of the actual details of the game.

You Kiffin people amuse me.

He won as many games at Tennessee (an SEC school) as Campbell has won this year in a weaker conference.

He will recruit much better, and I believe has better contacts for staff.

Both choices require some gambling. I suppose it comes down to what you value more. I personally value the recruiting of Kiffin more than anything.

Most of the people bashing him are taking his record at face value

Chizik went 5-19 there, the next coach lasted a few years before coaching dbs for Bert.

Out of the 2, I'd take Campbell every time. That said, he hasn't done a whole lot at ISU yet. 7-5 in year 4...maybe he can get this dumpster fire to 7-5 in 4 years but for 7 mil, that seems like an easy goal. Fleck or rhule would be the ones to pay 7 mil to.

Like I said, they are fricking idiots. All it takes is a quick google search to realize how terrible Iowa State is, historically.

Remember when Toledo came into Fayetteville and beat us while we were ranked with a backup QB? Yeah. That was him. That was a team with a senior Brandon Allen, Alex Collins, Hunter Henry, etc. They held us to 12 points.

I remember pretty much dominating that game, but it was another Bielema special, wasn’t it?

Why would Rhule take a pay cut at 7 mil to come here?

At a much, much weaker school than Tennessee.

Yeah, it's not my money so I shouldn't care, but if you're going to give him 7 a year, you might as well call Urban and offer him 10.

Are you really comparing Tennessee to Iowa State?
