I'm also extremely skeptical of the 400,000 attendance figure from last year. Maybe 50,000, most from AR, OK, and MO
Large crowds are measured by their trash output which is why this event gets such big numbers.

The event is definitely downgrading itself. The music acts have been shitty local bands for the past 3-4 years and it keeps getting worse. They're not attracting national sponsors or bringing in anything fun and cool as attractions.
I'd hate to see it go away since it's one of the few things that the state gets behind to bring people here.
I just got denied a request to close Hwy 74 in Devil's Den for a rally cross time trial race. I'm going to have to try to get some legislation changed or grease palms for an exemption. Would've been a super cool event giving it hell through that super curvy stretch up the hill.

I might go gamble with my life and check it out tonight
There might be some 40 y/old milf wanting to get down in a bathroom or something.

I usually go down one night to people watch. Counting Paul Tuttle mustaches is fun. Best part of the event if you ride is the demo tents. Most manufacturers are there and get a chance to test ride bikes that dealerships won't let you demo.
Afterwards go to The Green Room or Smoke and Barrel that will be empty and have a drink.

This was my go to. Especially when moranos or billys was overrun. Pretty safe bet for a decent evening

Huge difference between a gameday, a night of people out drinking and listening to music, and regular traffic, and the noise generated by drunken Okies on beater Harleys
Seems legit.
Seriously I'm not a fan of Harley noise all damn night. I have been there.

A lot of things I miss after moving away from Fayetteville... this isn't one of them. So glad I won't have to put up with that this year.

My Sophomore year at Fayetteville I stayed in town during it. I was living at Hill Place( I did freshman year at another school and transferred in).I never stayed in town another BBB weekend the rest of my time there. I would always escape to Dallas for the game.

My wife and I moved back up here about 4 years ago. Our thought process do the first few months was "we missed everything about this place, is there anything that isn't great about living up here?" When that first BBB rolled around, we were like "found one!"
One weekend with a baby during BBB and you'll want to go buy 25 acres in West Fork and build a compound the first chance you get.

It's really awful living in Fayetteville during this event. I'm heading out of town, as usual.
