The real question is who was worse.

2016-2017 Jalen Hurts

Or

2023-2024 Jalen Milroe

I think Milroe had more yards and touchdowns, but Hurts had less turnovers.

Hurts also had a lights out defense both years.

At no point was Hurts a major liability like Milroe is.

Hurts didn’t fully develop his physical tools until he left us but there was never any point where he looked as clueless as Milroe. As a Bama fan friend of mine described it, “He always ‘saw the game.’”

Nah. I saw him bail the pocket, roll right, and fire it out of bounds enough times to know that wasn’t true, certainly it while he was the starter.

He was still better than Milroe though because he was a bruiser in the run game that could break a tackle and move the chains. Milroe is boom or bust as a runner.

Hurts throwing it out of bounds is far better than Jalen tucking it the second he gets out of the pocket and then running out of bounds for a loss

I think Hurts as a runner fits this offense better, he was so natural and knew when to run

Hurts and Milroe were both awful against good defenses.

Look at the LSU, Washington and Clemson games in 2016 and the Florida St, LSU, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia games in 2017 for Hurts.

I do believe that Milroe had a higher ceiling when we was on. Plus look what Milroe did against Georgia, twice. Georgia had a pretty good defense both years.

Hurts was a safer bet at not turning the ball over though. However, I'm not sure what was worse, Hurts 2017 passing or Milroe's 2024 passing.

Obviously, Hurts is the better player now. He definitely wasn't that great at passing the football in 16 and 17. 17 was a special kind of awful.

I don’t recall Hurts ever gifting opponents double digit leads. He definitely never tried to trip an opposing player. Hurts was the definition of clutch. Milroe melts down when a stiff breeze goes against him.

Yeah, I’ll take True Freshman Jalen Hurts over Senior Jalen Milroe and it’s not even particularly close.

This. Hurts was never turnover prone like Milroe has been

Hurts at least knew his limitations. Milroe's greatest weakness is his belief that he can do anything. His main character/hero ball mentality is what causes the majority of his mistakes. He could learn a whole lot from Hurts.

Half the time, I'm not sure Milroe and the other 10 were running the same play. No offensive rhythm at any time this year. Even the 1st half against UGa was just a mess of big plays not rythmic drives.

It's not even close. Jalen Hurts was a winner who more often than not would show up in the clutch. I actually feel sorry for the guy. All he has done is won big everywhere he goes and he kind of gets the same treatment from Eagles fans. Jalen Hurts is a qb, Jalen Milroe is not.

Jalen Hurrs never lost Bama a game. He may have had some stinkers in terms of production, but he never played so badly that he was giving the other team the ball.

Milroe had more interceptions in the first half of the Michigan game than Hurts had his in his final 17 games at Alabama.
