Best bet is not to extend Saban's contract and hope he gets dissatisfied with less than 11 wins per season. At the same time, better hope there are HC candidates, a strong pool to choose from. If not, rather promote Sark as a short-term band aid then seriously lock up with some one who's a big time question mark ala Miami with Manny Diaz.
You cannot be serious. We lost two games one to arguably the best team in the country by 5 and the second after which our best player and QB went down.

I think it started before then. Remember, we were down to Keith Holcombe at LB against MSU that same season and almost lost that one, if not for Jalen.
You got your seasons mixed Pawpaw Bammer

I see 9-3 for 2020 and then another 10-2 for 2021. Not sure what happens after that.

Some Bama fans think Nick will be coaching at 80. Jeezus..........

No he didn’t. The NCG versus UGA was in the 2017 season. The MSU in which Jalen hit Devonta for the game winning TD was also 2017. We beat them 31-24.

Correct. I was in StarkVegas for that game. One of the most exciting, nail biting games I've ever witnessed.

It's very likely.

Doing so will require a total revamp of defensive scheme and personnel.
I disagree. Before any injuries, this was already a down year on the defensive front 7 regarding depth. Then we get smashed at injuries at those very positions.
Saban also likely needs to look at changing 1 or 2 positions on his staff.
But for fans that think this thing needs to be blown up and started over are just too "in their feelings" after a loss. Face it - after injuries, we were a 1-2 loss team. It is what it is.
We outgained auburn 515 to 354. They kept having great field position which wasn't on the defense. The defense actually played alright.
We gotta fix the discipline issues, we gotta fix the kicking issues, and we gotta recruit/develop on that front 7. That's it.
But having said all that, it's hard to throw 2 pick 6s and win.

The promotion of Tosh to DC (hoping to keep him for recruiting) started this clusterfeck and Golding for whatever reason has been unable to get the train back on the track. I wouldn't expect any moves by Nick until the ink is dry for those new additions this month.
We wait.
We wait.

Yep. We needed to keep Tosh in order to combat Kirby on the recruiting trail.
It’s time to do with the defense what we’ve done with the offense the last several go arounds. Go out and get an experienced quality DC.

Saban is smart. He will look at NFL guys too for a new DC. Names will emerge soon.

Ole Dan the Might Quinn might be available soon...can you feel me

Dan might want to be DC in the NFL.

I stand corrected, I was thinking of the Ole Miss/Arkie game in 2015 for some damn reason. Damn, outsmarted by a geriatric old Bammer, how embarrassing for me.

I don't doubt that this was the logic, but I've never understood it or agreed with it. When it comes to recruiting, Saban is the closer. With the millions upon millions of dollars that Bama players have been making in the NFL and all the championships, I find it hard to believe we would have lost recruits over Tosh Lupoi.
I can't believe we paid him $1.1M.
