It was me, but I said I wouldn't get into the political stuff. I did so only after being called out by Cobra. I quit immediately when asked.

My initial participation today was related to the medical debunking of bad coronavirus advice. It was on topic.

This is a thread about coronavirus.

I will immediately exit for that to continue. My apologies.
Dude, you are innapropriately playing an emotional card.

I respect that dude maximally. And he died supposedly defending and protecting my freedoms, including my freedom to say, "frick the US. Its federal gov't is currently an evil travesty." Questioning one's gov't is the highest of civil responsibilities.

His sacrifice and the morality of the US federal gov't are completely different and unrelated things, and you trying to marry them together for argumentative purposes is horseshite of the highest order and an insult to the memory of your friend.

Your friend fought for his fellow soldiers and friends next to him, not the war profiteering of the VP. Understand the difference.
I've always said I'm an a-hole. I'm also right. Those are not mutually exclusive concepts.
I just don't want the supply of certain medicines depleted by the misinformed crazies, hurting those with lupus and other serious maladies.
What do you call alternative medicine that works? Medicine.

If this water + zinc crap worked, it'd be bottled and sold by Bayer and Proctor & Gamble for $12 a bottle.

Drink whatever you want, but it won't make a hill of beans difference. And that goes for every other home concoction you can make. It does nothing. If it did, numerous companies would be selling it for profit.

Eat healthy, maybe take a multivitamin. After that, extra zinc or quinine will do nothing. You guys are taking basic benefits of a vitamin/mineral and declaring that MORE of it works wonders. It doesn't.

But don't let me get in the way of sharing misinformation. It is the national sport of the US, after all. Share away.

I listened to a pissed off Doctor out of Missouri yesterday. He said for folks to start drinking tonic water with quinine and zinc for preventative measures. He said quinine does the same thing that hydroxychloroquine. He said if you get sick, you have to use much more quinine and zinc, and you can’t up the doses for long, but that it doesn’t take very long to get better

The chiropractor video? If you're talking about that viral video, 1) chiropractors aren't doctors. Not even remotely close. 2) No offense, but the tonic water + zinc has been widely debunked. If it was remotely true, it'd be packaged and sold as preventative medicine for the seasonal flu.

What permanent, everyday changes come out of this coronavirus event?

Maybe Dre will finally drop Detox.

For those who listen to cfb podcasts, there's a good interview on the PAPN podcast with Bill Clark. It's the podcast from Apr 2nd. Includes talk of defensive theory and a Saban story.

EDIT: He waxes lyrical about how since the rules so benefit the offense, putting a good defense on the field is now a REALLY difficult thing to do.

Saban likes sitting at home

Of all the people who would hate a thing, that guy definitely hates that thing. I'd bet both testes on it. The only way Saban wouldn't come back was if he was dead or close to it.

I bet he challenges Mrs.Terry to paper football in the kitchen...

... and makes her arse quit!

But, I do wonder if he will be on a pitch count to start the season.

I believe Moses is 100% and will play his position normally, without limitation.

quote:

Who could rotate in to spell him early on

I do not believe this will be necessary.

Having said that, it is certainly imperative to train the 2s at ILB and Mike, and you can for sure have a discussion about who that will be. However, I do not expect the 2nd team Mike to have an increased workload as compared to any other year. Moses is 100%, or at least will be 100% long before fall camp starts.

quote:

But will someone like Ale Kaho come into the rotation more

I very much would like the "light to come on" for Kaho, and I hope he gets in the mix and is a contributor at ILB. But I don't think it'll have anything to do with Moses' injury, as he won't be injured or limited in 2020.

Russia isn’t going to be a superpower. They don’t have a bright future like China likely does.

Russia has more money from oil, minerals, and other stuff in the ground than you can possibly imagine. Couple that with a military culture and a willingness to flaunt international law, and Russia can theoretically accomplish whatever it wants, assuming it plays it's cards right. It's been playing them well for quite some time now.

China is VERY good at playing the long game.

China formaulated a plan to be the next great superpower after being ashamed at their world position after WW2. Their plan is almost wholly economical.

Russia formulated a plan to be the next great superpower after being ashamed at their position after the fall of communism in the late 80s. Their plan is varies, but as it pertains to the US, it's divide from within so that the US crumbles upon itself. The internet has made this easier.

Both Russia's and China's respective plans have been wildly successful and look to continue to be so in the future without significant global intervention.

It’s not really that imperative to dot lowercase js, as they aren’t confused with any other letter such as the lowercase i and the l.

I know you're probably being facetious, but the saying "cross your Ts and dot your Is" comes from cursive writing, where the writer had to go back at the end of a word, sentence, or phrase and take care of the little marks that don't get made on the first pass in cursive. It's not about necessity, but attention to detail at the end of a thing. (The small L is looped and cannot be confused with an uncrossed lower case t or undotted i, and and an undotted i is much shorter than an uncrossed lower case t from a technical perspective.)

My lower case J comment is from Wayne's World 2.
One more thing Saint, since you're a mod and I have your attention momentarily:

I know during these covid-19 times, the posting rules have been adjusted and that's cool. However, given that this is a sports discussion board, I want to voice my support for re-banning the topic of politics from the sports board in its entirety. I don't know when that can be done, but I vote for the sooner, the better. I think there is a politics board, and we should force all the political discussion to take place there. The rules were relaxed and that thread about the Governor's race (or whatever it was) was allowed to exist all of last year, and I think that was a mistake, and the political discussion has only grown from there. Any good sports board must ban all non-sports topics - especially politics - and I hope we can get back to that as soon as possible. Just my 2 cents.

EDIT: I also think the board could benefit from the topic of religion being similarly banned, but perhaps that's another discussion. Not sure.

What you really need is some self-awareness.

I take no offense that you say this, but it's laughable that you think I'm not aware of my words here and their ramifications. I'm clear about what I say and the fact that many here don't like it or disagree. That's literally what is so frustrating, that so many of my countrymen are clueless to the reality of life around them on earth to such a crazy level that a person who says what I say is considered 'out there' by much of the group. So many of you live life in such bubble of ignorance that yeah, it's incredibly frustrating. I get frustrated trying to fight against it, but it simply an exercise in futility. A very large portion of you are simply 'blue pill' folks, to borrow from the Matrix. And so I'm the bad guy for telling it like it is.

So be it, I suppose. But I'm well 'aware'. I only wish I could make my fellow countrymen equally aware. Then you wouldn't put up with the shite show that is the modern US.

Who was it that recently called the US the "richest 3rd world country on earth"? It's honestly accurate.

I will certainly cop to one thing, though. I let my frustration at the words and actions of Americans not on this website out on this website, and that is not something I should not do. Most of us are guilty of it, but since I speak so strongly, the misappropriation is exaggerated and more improper. For that, you have my apologies. And I will endeavor in the future to try and seperate the two.

Who, in your highly valued self-opinion, should people be watching instead?

I'd prefer folks read the news, rather than watch it, but to each his own.

Regarding the best unbiased sources, I'd encourage any American to get his/her news from BBC, AL Jazeera, NPR, or the Wall Street Journal. Hell, even checking out the front page of Reddit can be useful. And stay away from anything purporting itself to be 'news' on social media, especially Facebook.
