It’s really an 11-team playoff plus Notre Dame

I don't understand the extension. They should have waited and see what happens in the next two years. If DeBoer wanted to go before that so, be it. The five or six years post Saban were not going to be that great away. His teams just have not been that good against good teams and lose bad to some mediocre teams.

The fact that this statement is very largely true, makes what happened last year all the more hilarious.

With all the players that left and to make the playoffs with two totally different systems you have to give the man credit. The thing is will he be able to adjust to what SEC football is or will the offense start clicking and he not have to. Had to lock him up so nobody else can take him.

Jimmy Sexton, the most powerful man in college football. Anyone who argues with that is just blind.

You seriously think Nick Saban is more powerful than Sexton? Think outside a fan’s box. Sexton controls probably 90% of the coaches in college football and all he has to do is snap his fingers and schools sit up and bark and hand out contracts like this.

Does Debor have Sexton as his agent? I had no idea. He's smart if he does.

That would be a big yes.

No mitigation clause in this contract is Sexton making a school sit up on its hind legs and bark in classic fashion

Every offseason Jimmy makes the ADs of this great nation sit in the chair.

And collects at least 10% and I would bet you a little more of what he gains from them for his clients.

This for me is the big one. The worst running game in the history of the program and one of the worst in the country is inexcusable at Alabama. The coming year should have been the make-or-break year for him.

We can blame the OL. We can blame the RBs. At the end of the day the troubling thing is this is a trend with Grubb.

Apparently, Byrnes know more about the situation than we do. Maybe, allot of schools are inquiring with Deboer. I think it was too early to extent..... he hasn't done anything in my mind to warrant the bank roll they just gave him!

Yea.....all he did was take over for the GOAT, have to rely on the QB that is an RB to keep the team together AFTER the best players left (Caleb Downs was drafted last night), take a team that didn't fit his scheme and take them to the SEC Championship game and the playoff with a pitiful OL and running game and get his QB whom he didn't recruit drafted at #13 last night....did I miss something? Oh yeah he went on the road to Oklahoma and won said playoff game before losing to the National Champions. Yep not much.....

I’m not crazy about the extension either but Alabama fans are going to have to adjust to the new norm. And that new norm has greatly reduced the impact of your coaching staff and greatly increased the impact of your boosters. The final four coaches last year were Dan Lanning, Cignetti, Kiffin, and Cristobal while sitting at home watching you had Ryan Day and Kirby Smart with 3 natties between them and multiple 2nd place finishes. Note that 3 of the final 4 had Phil Knight, Mark Cuban, and John Ruiz backing them. Kiffin is the best offensive mind in football and he was given sufficient funds by Ole Miss boosters to compete. It’s not about the coaches anymore. It’s still about the Jimmies and Joes but to get them, you have to have the Benjamins.
