Wommack has been fine for the most part but the defense has been figured out and can be exploited if schemed correctly (something Tennessee did on the fly).

they "figured it out" and "exploited it" only after the D was worn down and exhausted from being on the field the entire game.

In today's game, one or two key injuries changes the entire complexion of your team. Its NFL lite.

I think DeBoer is a good coach with a great offensive mind. I also think he is a terrible cultural fit at Alabama and doesn’t get it and never will. It may be a moot point at seasons end if Lincoln Riley gets canned. He bought himself some goodwill last night by dominating THE Ohio State University, but Riley being Riley, he will burn that goodwill to the ground in a couple of weeks. USC will make a hard push for DeBoer to replace Riley and I don’t think Alabama could keep him in that case even if we wanted to. DeBoer and Grubb get to go back to the left coast where they fit in and at the premier blueblood football program west of the Rockies historically. That place just needs a jump start and they will return to being the most prestigious football team in the west.
I’m not looking to run DeBoer off but if he chooses to leave, I won’t shed a tear. Replacing him will be a bitch with the dearth of proven coaches in the upper echelons of the P4 but Alabama will survive.
That might be the best ending for everyone involved: DeBoer and Grubb get to go home to a sleeping giant with access to money and celebrities to turn around SC and Alabama gets to reboot with a coach and staff that fit the program.

It's actually worse. You can at least get someone competent to replace them. In college, you're just fricked. No mid season roster adjustment to plug unexpected holes.

Once again, USC is not poaching DeBoer

For the love of god stop fueling this BS. Y’all complain about rumors then wishcast Michigan, Penn State, and now this junk

Also “cultural fit” might be the most cop out complaint y’all regurgitate. You don’t even know what it means

They just want someone who shows "fire" on the sidelines and chews asses which I do understand the appeal and get why they want it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it too.

But sideline theatrics don't automatically guarantee success and disciplined play. Just look at Muschamp and Pelini.

DeBoer has shown his arse on the sidelines plenty and you know what: the results are not what people want so they just ignore it and act like the man is clapping like Dubose or 1000yd staring like Shula.

He’s done that multiple times and this board has written love letters about it mid-game. Give me a fricking break

He has shown the same product on the field for three years. The first two it was; “well he don’t have his players, or his OC”, this year he does, and I’m pretty sure it’s worse. He preaches physicality and the team underperforms in that regard on a week to week basis. He may be an offensive mastermind, or whatever…but he does a great job of hiding it by hiring his buddies to run the thing. We are undisciplined, typically unprepared, and lack physicality in all aspects (maybe aside from our safeties that can’t cover). It’s not a great product right now, and aside from a few quarters here and there…it hasn’t been great in the last three years.

I think Kalen is a really good person and above average football coach. He should have Bama at 8-4 or 9-3 year after year.

What I believe he lacks is that ruthless pursuit to hire the best assistant football coaches he can get. Take a stroll thru this staff and tell us whom among them have shown greatness at any level.

Being comfortable with someone isn't necessarily a real positive

Four weeks ago y’all couldn’t stop glazing the tight ends blocking people into the ground and now it’s “we’re not tuff enough”.

Laziest fricking excuse of a complaint.

We’ve churned through Lanning, Kiffin, Sark, etc. as options but they’re getting their asses kicked so what’s the new one y’all want to say is the savior now?

He has two less regular season wins than Kirby Smart since 2024 (should be one but the refs stole it).

Either he's doing something right or Kirby is the second worst coach ever.

Edit: actually, he should have one more win than Smart if you factor in the refs also stole a win from Auburn last year and robbed Georgia Tech of a victory in 2024. I'm not into conspiracy theories but I also don't believe in coincidences either and when a team has multiple "controversial" wins in such a short period of time, it's hard to dismiss those wild theories.

Y’all would indicate me being included. I don’t think I’ve mentioned that once. I expect our tight ends to be nasty and physical. I expect us to line up on fourth and 1 and be able to get enough push to gain a yard. If you can watch the Georgia game and the Tennessee game and your idea is we didn’t get physically whooped, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t like the idea of smaller linemen; I understand the philosophy as they can pull ect…but you aren’t getting push with a 260lb center on 300 plus pound DT. I think in our league that just isn’t going to work. I think Deboer is a good coach, I just don’t think his philosophy lends itself well to our conference in particular. My opinion is because of the size difference our only chance of getting push is something like a 13 personnel. While that has a place, I don’t like having to rely on multiple tight ends to get a run game going as it takes away the treat of opening the passing game up and mixing things up. There is a reason we are seeing more tight ends catching passes this year than in recent memory. It is out of necessity. They have to be on the field to have any chance of running the football.

Our center isn't 260lbs It's painful the amount of shite that gets pulled out of an arse around here.

Y'all don't know what you're complaining about

You know who else runs a ton of 12 and 13? Georgia. You're not whining about Georgia having to rely on tight ends are you?

Y'all complain about "we're not running the bawllllll" and then when we start going into a play-action heavy offense you're whining that it's not done right.

I was being facetious about his weight. He looks smaller than most centers or any linemen in our league. He also seems to get pushed backwards a lot. I wouldn’t complain about Georgia using tight ends because I’m not a Georgia fan; also those guys have an entire roster of Brock Bowers clones. No one would complain about that. Lastly, play action only works when you can have any sort of threat of running, which we don’t, not a significant one. If we also have a multitude of procedural penalties a game. Speaks volumes to the lack of preparedness that I was speaking of earlier. I get it you’re a big Deboer guy, and I hope he finds success too; but right now I don’t see enough improvement to believe he will.
