The first game I went to was SW Louisiana in 1987. I remember listening to the Notre Dame game in the car with my mom later that season. I might be misremembering, but it seems like it was raining bad that day in the Birmingham area.
My first time in Tuscaloosa was Ole Miss in 1988. I didn't understand at that age how beat up the QBs were. I just remember my dad and uncle being very aggravated that day.

Attending was 1972 Vanderbilt in BDS. Vandy kept it close early but that was due mostly to lackluster play by Bama which only served to piss Coach Bryant off. Needless to say, Bama came out of the locker room and stomped a mudhole in them.
First game I vividly remember watching was 1976 Liberty Bowl vs top ten UCLA. Talk before the game was how it was a mismatch and Alabama would do well to keep it close. uCLA missed out on a Rose Bowl bid by losing to USC. Alabama gave them a good ole country whoopin’ from the word go. It was never in doubt and fun to watch.

1989 Bama vs. Vandy in Nashville. Rainy and nasty, but 5 year old me loved it all.

My first in person experience was Bama shutting out Cal and Vince Ferragama (and Steve Bartkowski) with Chuck Muncie at RB, 66-0 at Legion Field.

I was there as well. The game wasn't as close as the score.
I believe Vince transferred to Nebraska or maybe it was another team.

Maybe it's just because I think his name is the coolest.... but watching his film.... I think more folks should include the name "Major Ogilvie" alongside Musso, Alexander, Ingram and Henry.
He has the accolade to back it up, 2 natties, 3 SEC rings, team captain and Sugar Bowl MVP.

I’m not sure it was my first game but the first memory I went with my dad to see Bama vs. Va Tech in Tuscaloosa in 1973. I was 8 years old. Bama won 77-6. I can still remember seeing the old Denny Stadium scoreboard lights with the final score as we walked out.
Four Bama players each had 100+ yards rushing. Can’t remember their names except Richard Todd at QB. Set a NCAA record for yards from scrimmage and another for rushing yards with 743. Va Tech was not very good back then, obviously. Still a great memory.

Van Tiffin's The Kick Iron Bowl is the first one I really remember being invested in as a kid...even though I watched games before that.

Probably around mid 70's. Alabama was on TV and my dad told me we won the national championship.

I remember bits a pieces of games before this, but this one I remember vividly… which was Phillip Doyle’s game winner against TN. I jumped up excited punching the air and broke our ceiling fan, and my dad came unglued but couldn’t get too mad because we had just won.

That punt on the quick kick was something. It went 48 yards in the air. He took one step when he kicked it.

while i've seen this game many times on replay and vhs tape or youtube. i let a friend talk me into going to see jaws and missed watching it live.

I know I watched games before this but can't recall any in particular; the one that stands out in my memory is the Goal line stand against Penn State in Sugar Bowl.

My first distinct memory of Bama football is watching George Teague run down and strip the ball away from Lamar Thomas while watching with my dad and some of his friends. I was 6.
