Alumnus ‘84, yes, I am old and was there with Coach Bryant.
Didn’t know where I wanted to go to college, but I grew up in an athletic, sports crazy family. In high school, had a huge crush on Kenny Stabler, so I figured Alabama was as good a place as any to go to college.
Long story short, best decision of my life! It changed my life and I have life long friends from my years at Alabama.
I love all things ‘Bama and everybody who knows me knows it. I don’t get back to Tuscaloosa often anymore, but I will watch any and all Alabama sports on tv and online.
On another note, this site and you guys really help maintain that connection for those of us out of state. I also lost my husband two years ago and y’all are a pseudo support group for me. I don’t have much reason to laugh these days, but someone always posts something that makes me chuckle. Thank you and roll tide!

Grew up in McCalla now Panama City area 54, not an alum, passed up a Presidential scholly to go to Samford because my future ex-wife wanted me to. She knew what I would have done if turned loose in Tuscaloosa. I guess I could claim half-alum status since future ex attended Bama and I did most of her papers and projects for her, and went to a lot of her sorority parties. Grew up watching Coach Bryant’s heydays in the 70’s and I can remember every natty since 1973 and attended the first beatdown of Notre Dame and the LSU shutout in the Dome so I’m a spoiled Bama mofo. Now my daughter goes to Bama on her own Presidential.

60 Years old, yea I know I'm old. Live in Prattville Al. My Father went to Bama, I already knew everything and didn't need collage, discovered fast motorcycles and women and big buds and living large!! I grew up watching Bama football and Basketball with my Dad. Still remember watching Bear Bryant Show as a young'un.Wish my Dad was here to see this run now.

Ray Perkins was a family friend.. he recruited some of my family. He got me watching the Tide. Really going to miss the guy. One of the true reasons I do what I do today. He was always a call away from great advise... Had the pleasure of learning under Coach DuBose.. really made me a defensive guy. Ellis Johnson became one of my mentors and still is today. I was lucky enough to marry up, so I can do what I enjoy today. Coach.
Coach Huff is going to be missed.. great guy and couldn’t be happier for him. I had the pleasure of getting to know him from his MSU days. Roach is a monster on the recruiting trail though. Great guy as well.. got to know him more from the Ole miss days. No, he won’t tell me inside info..lol

3. 4 year walk-on with an SEC championship ring and an A Club ring.
4. Dad was an alumnus who signed with Bama in ‘74. He didn’t last long, though.
5. Loved Alabama football growing up. Lived and died with every win/loss as a kid. Being at the ‘93 Sugar Bowl with my dad as a 14 y/o is one of my fondest childhood memories.
6. Very little emotional investment in it since I graduated, though, to be honest. Aside from what I still have from my “playing days,” I have no Alabama attire, souvenirs, etc., at all.
7. I think a large part of the reason for #6 is that after four years of being on the team and practicing with famous players every day, busting my arse through countless workouts and practices, and getting the experience of dressing out for several games that I am just not “awed” by Alabama football anymore.
6. The last time I put on football pads was the 2000 Iron Bowl and I have been to 1-2 games since and none since the early 2000s. Nowadays I watch games more as a football fan than an Alabama fan.

I grew up being a Bama fan. My parents werent HUGE Bama fans, but my cousins and most friends at a young age were. Was always a fan since I can remember, but the 92' season sealed it for me when I was 11.
Didnt end up going to UA, UAH Alum instead.
I also enjoy short walks on the beach with beer. Kayaking with beer. And camping... with whiskey or beer.

Born in Columbus, OH(dad was finishing school at OSU), raised in Tuscaloosa. Approaching 50, graduated from Bama in 95, though I hung around Tuscaloosa for a couple years after graduating pretending I was gonna go to graduate school when really I was just hanging around waiting for my GF at the time to graduate.
Dad took me to a couple of football games in the late 70's, but I really didn't fall in love with Bama athletics until around 81 when dad bought basketball season tickets. From 81 through my graduating from Bama, I didn't miss many home games, and went to several road games through the years. Deep down, basketball is still my first college sport love. I guess living in Tuscaloosa and seeing him around town from time to time had something to do with it, but I never really appreciated the stature of Coach Bryant. It didn't really hit until he died and watching his funeral procession from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham on the local news.

From Huntsville. No one in my family watched/watches sports. Turned on some game called the Iron Bowl, because kids at school were talking about it all week. It was in the 4th quarter when I turned it on. Hadn't chose a team to support yet. Some kicker named Van Tiffin kicked a last second field goal to win the game and I fell in love with the sport and the team.

Bama fan all my life, graduated from Bama in 1979 with a degree in HPER.

From Dothan, live in Pensacola now. Not an alum. My entire family are Alabama fans. I’m 47 years old. I remember the tale end of the Bryant years on up. The last conversation I had with my dad before he died when I was 14 was about the upcoming 1988 season and how good DT would be.
