In terms of what I think of how good they'll be:
1) Keelon
2) Mack
3) Ty
I would reverse that list for game 1 QB depth though.

4, Ty has 3 rushing and will likely be the fastest QB in College Football next year.
Based on what we have I think we are going to be great, at least Natty appearance. I think either Keelon (cause we have a lineage of first year QBs from Texas making the playoffs) or Mack (who is an absolutely marvel of a QB, leader of men, slinger of all things but mostly footballs, tall) will lead us to the championship. Then the night before CKD will access the traits of what a Bama QB needs to win a championship and he is going to use his elite strategy to possibly set up and Scott Frost style offense for Ty (with a little bit more slanging) and Jeff Hostetller Bama a title. We got 3 elite QBs and it is going to be lit.
The other thing is I think Narduzzi might just get pissed about all the passing at Pitt and go strictly wildcat which might open the door for a Holstein return.

I just want to say it’s hilarious that after the “Sayin will start year one” nonsense we now have “Keelon will start year one” people
You’d think people would learn

I think:
1a**: Mack, 1a**" Russell (2 close to call with on field performance, I think Mack wins only a little by Charisma, leadership, tall)
1b**: Ty (I think if things get to easy midway through the season and they just go pro mid-season to help a NFL playoff team, Ty steps in as Heisman front runner)

Haven’t seen many saying he will start, just some (myself included ) that hopes he gets a shot and not have to wear a headset for 3 years to “earn” it like days past. That won’t happen much going forward .

Sayin couldn't even make it through January before he hit the bottom of the depth chart and was forced out, due to the talent on the roster. It was ridiculous from the beginning.

Another thing people need to consider: we play in Doak Campbell Stadium in game 1. Keelon Russell would have to be the combination of Bryce Young and Tua Tagovailoa in the form of one player to be ready for that moment in his first college football game in uniform.

I’m not saying he WILL start.
I am saying he SHOULD start if he goes out and wins the job.
That’s a big difference.
Again, may the best QB win. I have no partiality or personal loyalty to any of them, although I have said I like what I have seen from Mack.
But if Mack isn’t “him” based on his performance on the field, he shouldn’t start.

(deeper breakdown)
1) Keelon - from Texas, has shown great talent in games and at camps, flipped him from playoff team
2) Mack - leader, QB Savant, Slinger, Tall
3) Ty - elite threat with legs, coaches son, best traits in QB room
I would reverse that list for game 1 QB depth though.

I think if he preps right and "acquires" some crab legs before the game he will rise to the occasion.

His is the kind of attitude you want a QB to have. They tend to play with confidence and that’s what you want. This was Jalen’s biggest problem. He has every physical tool he needs to be the best QB in CFB but he didn’t have confidence and when he made a mistake he was ruined and could never get over it. If Keelon doesn’t start next year because Ty or Mack beat him out it’s the coaches job to get him to see the light on why he needs to stay and compete.

Yes, you’re right. We need to recruit more players that don’t believe they are good enough to start

If Austin Mack wins the job he will transfer.

Let’s not be ridiculous, Ty might not win the starting job but it won’t be to a high schooler that chose Bama over SMU.
Well now. This is my concern. Ty and his followers ain't going down easy.
My understanding is this guy was the number one QB this year, not a kid with two offers.

That would mean Mack is the better player, so...

Here's the thing with Russell, though. From all accounts, he's sorta cut from the same cloth as Tua and Bryce were. Very mature for his age, with a bit of swagger/confidence about them. Many have compared him to Jayden Daniels at the same age. As skinny as Daniels is, Russell is probably more physically ready now than Daniels was as a true frosh. He has about 7 months to get himself up to 180-190 by August camp. Very doable with Alabama's strength/nutrition program.
Also, he played at the very highest level of high school ball, so I doubt that he'll be overwhelmed by much thrown at him in college. Jalen Hurts was the same way. But Russell is WAY more advanced as a passer than Hurts was coming in. There's no getting around that Russell ideally needs 1-2 years to mature physically for this level of football, but Jayden Daniels survived pretty well as a skinny rookie for Washington, and Bryce his first two years with Carolina. Part of avoiding injuries is just plain luck.
With all of that said, it's Ty Simpson's job to lose. For whatever reasons, he hasn't been able to win the job in three years at Alabama yet. We'll see if he's ready now. And Mack is the real wildcard. Supposedly he had other attractive options when he chose to transfer here. I doubt many here know much about him other than the great throw he made in mop-up late in the season. He has the size and arm, but those traits alone are a dime a dozen. Even NFL coaches and scouts get blinded by that stuff in the draft EVERY YEAR.

That’s probably what he’s told to do. Start controversial threads on here to get traffic moving during a dead period and to stir the pot a little.

Nope, #2 by 247, #2 by ON3, #3 by Rivals, #1 Dual threat on ESPN, but graded lower than two pocket passer QBs.
The dude is very good, but a lot of people seem to think he's some generational talent we've never seen before. For reference, he's graded well lower than Bryce Young was, who didn't start his first year.
