Not totally sure if he qualifies as underrated but he’s not talked about much. Marquise Maze

Here is another one that I think went underrated (or under appreciated)
- OL Austin Shephard

Kevin Norwood
Solid pick. Norwood was that guy McCarron could go to when the offense was in a funk. So reliable.

the much maligned Anthony Madison. He was a constant whipping boy on Ala sites, but that ended one day in Tuscaloosa when Coach Superior at So Carolina went after Madison 3 straight plays in the corner of the end zone with one of his taller receivers. Madison broke up the first 2, the spiked the 3rd one like in volleyball. Madison then turned and stared at the SC sideline. The nfl didnt believe either, but I think it was the Steelers that picked him up as an unsigned fee agent. He played in 2 Super Bowls.

Wasn't that Marquise Johnson?
It could've happened with Madison, too - and that would be kinda weird if so.

Are you sure you aren't thinking about Marquis Johnson in 2009, or did that exact same thing happen with Madison in 2005 as well?

you might be right on the 3 passes to the corner. Madison did play in the League though.

Michael Williams was exactly what we wanted at TE during that period

I would love to have Michael Williams back at TE. That strong blocker as an in-line TE would be huge in reestablishing our offense as a physical force in the run game.

Except that time he let Eric Reid steal the ball from him at the goal line on the pass from Marquis Maze in the 9-6 game

Madison didn't play for Saban.

Mark Engram
Derrick Henry
Devonte Smith
And soon…
Bryce Young
Those guys got zero love. It’s unbelievable really. And it’s about time we gave them their due.

Doh!
Reminds me of the Auburn people who, nine years later in 2008, were still spelling their coach’s name… “Tubberville.”
