Matt Caddell is the first one that comes to mind. Had a middling career before Saban got here, and was a solid contributor in the shadow of DJ Hall in 2007.
Robert Lester on defense. A few of those NT's through the years as well. They don't always fill the stat sheet, but a few of them were really good at occupying an O-lineman to free up the linebackers. Chapman, Gentry, Ivory, etc.

I liked him bc people said we signed him just to get Julio. He was a hell of a player. Reminded me a little of Rashad Johnson, unheralded guys who played great

Roy Upchurch, Kevin Norwood, Vinnie Sunseri, Jalston Fowler, Tony Brown, and as many have mentioned, Robert Lester.

The back up holder was clutch in the Iron Bowl.

I know he was technically a Shula recruit but William Vlachos is a good one.

I will always die on the Robert Lester was underrated hill in this conversation.
He got his big chance in 2010 after another really good safety, Robby Green, was dismissed from the team.

Adarius Stewart
Guy was a big time playmaker. He would easily have been a 1K yard receiver in the Bama offenses of the last few years

Agreed. He was clutch in the 2015 season. Made big time catches against Tennessee, Auburn and Clemson.

Anthony Averett and Levi Wallace. Unheralded players who have carved out roles in the NFL.

I thought about them but honestly, they are legit NFL stars.
I've been super surprised over their careers and extremely proud.
ETA: I guess they were underrated at 'Bama.

This one is easy for me: Dalvin Tomlinson
2016 Defense:
DL: Jonathan Allen - 1st round
DL: Da’Ron Payne - 1st round
DL: Dalvin Tomlinson - 2nd round
LB: Tim Williams - 3rd round
LB: Reuben Foster - 1st round
LB: Rashaan Evans, 1st round
LB: Ryan Anderson - 2nd round
DB: Marlon Humphrey - 1st round
DB: Anthony Averett - 4th round
DB: Minkah Fitzpatrick - 1st round
DB: Eddie Jackson - 4th round
DB: Ronnie Harrison - 3rd round
Dude was a 2nd round pick and has started all 76 games in the NFL since he was drafted. Yet he was probably the 11th or 12th most famous player among fans on that defense next to Anthony Averett.

Still can't believe he didn't make an impact in the NFL. He was a beast for us.

Didn't Tomlinson have a few injury issues while here? He was good when he was on the field, but seems I remember him missing quite a few games with injuries.

Don't think so. His stats showed that he played in 29 of 30 games between his junior and senior seasons.

Tomlinson was more known for wrestling and comic books than football (it seemed.)

Nick Gentry (for Magilla)
Also. Alfred McCullough, switched from OL from DL and was a hell of a 6th OL. He started for both Barrett Jones at LT and Anthony Steen at RG in 2011 and kept that unit together.

He tore his ACL playing soccer in his senior year, then tore his other at Bama early.

Wow, didn't know the whole defense got drafted.
