JD is the one that cannot play a lick of defense. Shack plays hard and fights through a number of screens. They dont have to screen JD, just blow right by him.

Considering how often we struggle to defend at all, much less defend without fouling, and the fact that the game is in Memorial Shithole I'd be shocked if we won. Pippen is probably going to score 30+ and flop and flail his way to 8-10 trips to the FT line. If he does his usual act of pretending he just got shot whenever someone bumps him in the paint I fully support Chuck channeling his inner Bill Laimbeer.

It's going to be a frustrating game tonight for sure. I'm hoping for an ugly win but could definitely see a loss tonight. Vanderbilt has looked pretty good over the last few weeks. I just want to escape with a W, I'll even make a promise to myself that I won't jump on here and overreact afterwards.

I in no way expect to win tonight, so any win will be readily accepted.

Brittany Davis Crowned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week

The senior guard combined for 55 points and 12 rebounds in wins over then-No. 12/8 Tennessee and at Texas A&M

Off topic, but frick the B1G and frick Michigan. Juwan Howard being suspended for 5 fricking games and getting a pocket change fine is a joke. He should have been fired, and barring that he should have been suspended without pay at least until the end of the postseason and been slapped (pun intended) with like a $200,000 fine.

JD and Herb is not a good comparison regarding their ability to stick with an NBA team. Herb is a mature player, and while not super gifted offensively, does things that help teams win. Perhaps most importantly, he knows what he is not. JD is a project who will get shipped straight to the G-League and it will be on him to improve.

JD would be making a big mistake to leave UA. He's not close to ready to handle being an NBA point guard.

I think what Howard did was despicable but the Wisconsin coach grabbing his arm to stop and lecture him was bad form as well. Just allow the blow-by handshake and nothing happens. Not absolving Howard by any means but Gard had a role in that escalating.

And I also think Howard being upset in the first place was ridiculous considering that he had his starters in running a full-court press.

For some reason I thought they tried to avoid rematches for the first 2 rounds. Maybe that is conference matchups they try to avoid?

Naw. Howard said shite first something about "I'll remember that." So, he stopped him to discuss a bit.

Yea I don't think they want any conference teams playing until the Sweet 16. Pretty sure it's happened a time or two though.

Not reacting at all would have obviously been the superior choice. But that doesn't necessarily mean Gard did anything wrong. Its amusing watching Juwan go from talking shite in the line to being triggered about a light grab on the arm. Especially when the reason that Howard was initially angry made zero sense as you pointed out

That's fine. Don't put your hands on another man, though. Tell him to eat shite or whatever and just keep going.
