Have you seen our record there over the last 5 or 6 years?

Nice to see BMiller mentioned about basketball only!
Hope these guys don’t run off SoGeorge here like the group did to Boz on the football thread. That’d be a damn tragedy.
Saves us all a bunch of research. And if he quits posting, I’m gonna use my ginormous 2000~ posts’ sway to punish the guilty and get SoG back.

Only seen a few minutes of NC State but none of Iowa.
Iowa is basically a better version of Vandy in a conference where they aren't punished as much for their losses. They run good sets, they have guys who can score, but they are pretty terrible defensively.
They also like to play at our pace. I think we would wreck them. I'd much rather see them than NC State in an early round game.

Thank you. That tells me all I need to know about our chances against them.

I would absolutely love to play Iowa in the 2nd round, we match up extremely well with them.
Also kind of like Arkansas +4 tonight, would be nice for them to win out and potentially get out of our area in the conference tournament bracket.

Will all 4 Birmingham games happen the same day or 2 on Thursday and 2 on Friday?

I don't think we can play them before the Sweet 16 because we've played them twice already. Assuming that we stay a #1 ...
if they stay 8/9 (like currently projected) then they can't be in our bracket
If they move to 7 or 10 we couldn't meet them until Elite 8 even if they are in our bracket
If they move to 6 or 11 we couldn't meet them until Elite 8 even if they are in our bracket
I don't think any other seed is within their reach, but them getting a 5 seed might be the only way we could possibly meet then in the Sweet 16 (unless we had played them a 3rd time - in the SEC tournament and then we can't play them until the Elite 8 regardless so they'd have to be the 5 in a different bracket).
ETA: Oops, I just saw you said conference tournament. So I wasted a bunch of typing.

It’s different because in the Tues night game the two opponents have the same amount of rest.

Auburn might slip to one of the last four in if we beat them tomorrow night and then Tennessee wins against them this weekend. Please make this happen.

Auburn gonna be highly motivated. Expecting another tourney-type game tomorrow. Good for building resilience for the tourney.

Highly motivated but do they have the horses of Arkansas ? Arky was at full strength and playing with confidence. Auburn just got their asses handed to them. I expect them to play hard but we should win at home.

I think the best thing that could happen for Auburn is OM beating Aggy tonight. If we aren't playing for the title we might sleepwalk through the game. If we're motivated I think we kick the shite out of them though. We're simply a better team than they are and tHangar is going to be a zoo.

quote:they’re 6 spots away from being out on Lunardi’s bracket. Imagine if they get blown out by 30 against Bama (right after losing by 30 at UK) and then they lose again to Tennessee. There’s no way you can keep them in at that point.

Losing in Tuscaloosa is not gonna move the needle much unless we run them out of the gym badly enough to affect their NET. However, if they don't beat us or Tennessee, then they will have gone 3-9 down the stretch. I don't know if current form is something the committee weighs but it probably should be. For example, we didn't really deserve the 6-seed we got last year

Bama should be plenty motivated to win. They beat us last year in Coleman. frick them. I hope that Brandon Miller drops 40 on them.

I know they used to consider the last 10 games. Not sure if they abandoned that criteria though.
