The only way they keep this close is if they get hot shooting the ball...and I find that very unlikely.

It’s possible, though.

I hope that Brandon Miller posterizes K.D. Johnson.

I also add Brandon Miller not getting SEC player or freshman of the week as motivation.

I know they used to consider the last 10 games. Not sure if they abandoned that criteria though.

They did drop that as an official criteria to not take weight off big OOC matchups.

However, even if not an official criteria there's no way it doesn't play a small part in selection and seeding.

Auburn's bigger issue than current form is that their only 2 Q1 wins are Arky at home and Northwestern.

If they can't knock off one of Bana or UT they're going to be around 2-11 in Q1 games and likely up against bubble teams from the Big10 and Big12 with 5 or so Q1 wins or even Miss St with wins over Marquette, TCU, @Ark and TxA&M.

We've had 2 consecutive mediocre wins, preceded by a Georgia blowout and a loss to Tennessee.
So, to feel certain of a big margin win is short sighted, IMO.

One on the road vs a team that shot very well and the other vs a team that is hitting it's stride while getting it's best player back.

Putting it all on a 2 game stretch is short sighted imo. Ebbs and flows happen. If you want to judge simply based on recent performances then you can factor Auburn coming off a 30 pt beatdown.

If Auburn doesn't shoot well we will blow them out.

It doesn't bode well for Auburn that we finally figured out how to respond to a team extending their defense on our guards and running us off the 3-point line, as the 50+ point second half against Arkansas showed. That's the recipe we need to follow against a team like Auburn that has a hard time defending the drive without fouling. Hope we don't settle for a bunch of early contested 3s.

Quinnerly was a pretty big part of that. He is way better at penetrating the defense and passing the ball than our other guards.
He just needs to refrain from pounding the ball between his legs before he takes off.

Bediako needs to have a big game inside. Also hope that Sears can drive the ball and draw fouls like you said. Especially if we are having a hard time knocking down threes like on Saturday.

I would like to see more of Pringle. What an athlete. He has an upside.

Auburn nearly lost to Ole Miss at home last week, too.

Pringle made an impact in the Arkansas game for sure. He and Bediako need to make their presence felt against Johni Broome.

I thought he meant if for Saturday opponents, one had an advantage playing on the Tuesday vs playing on Wednesday prior. Either way you slice it, everybody plays 3 games in eight days.

Ala has won the SEC Tournament 3x where the MVP came from another team ('82, '89, '91). That's nuts.

Yep, I think that's essentially what Pearl tried to do the first time.

Take away the perimeter but leave the lane exposed – which we certainly exploited – but never could pull away because we're settling for two points each time.

Not a bad strategy, and it's kept teams hanging around with us later in the game, versus giving up a barrage of early threes.

I love seeing Miller driving it to them rim more recently and not just shooting three pointers. That slam at the beginning of the second half against Arkansas set the tone.
