Joka….The media tried to shame Miller and ruin his/Bama season but they don’t realize they have done nothing but given him fuel.

Can someone give me a cliff notes run down on what we have coming in next year?

Gotta be preseason top 5 I'd think with this returning:
Bradley
Griffin
Bediako
Burnett
Pringle
Sears
JQ???

Clowney is probably 50/50 and then Davin Cosby. Add 3 recruits and Will portal the rest.

By the numbers of returnees listed by mac, minus JQ, adding Cosby and 3 recruits we’d be looking at a roster of pushing 15 or more guys. How many players are D-1 teams allowed to roster?

Thirteen scholarship players is still the limit I think. Then you can have a few walk-ons.

JQ???

Him being a veteran presence who has "bought in" is certainly a positive.

If I'm completely honest though, I'm getting a little tired of the mouth running and the low-IQ plays.

I would take pre-injury JQ 100%, but he just seems different now. I think part of it is that everyone around him has gotten so much better.

When he flashes a few times during the season he still looks like he can become a major part of this team. For selfish reasons, I just wish he'd do it more consistently.

How often do we play the Saturday game on a day less rest than our opponents have?

Probably evens out? The team playing Tuesday with three nights rest is probably wondering if the team playing Wednesday gains an advantage with an extra days rest from their Prior Saturday game?

13 scholarship players.

Returning:
1.Bradley
2.Griffin
3.Bediako
4.Burnett
5.Pringle
6. Sears
7. Cosby

Possibly returning:
8. Clowney (50/50)
9. JQ (70/30)

Adding:
10. Diabate
11. Walters

Up in the Air adding:
12. Rj Johnson.

So basically we will add between 1 to 3 portal guys depending on whether Clowney or JQ returns and if we let RJ Johnson enroll

Will be a really good basketball team. Probably not as good as this years because Miller is a once in a lifetime player IMO. But if we add some top transfers we should still be a top 10 type team and a threat

Keep seeing us matched up with Iowa or NC State in the 2nd round. Anyone know how we would match up with them? Keep hearing NC State has a really good backcourt and I've seen their big guy that's around 280 pounds but only 6'9". He's a banger around the rim from what I've seen.

Only seen a few minutes of NC State but none of Iowa.

But everyone plays Saturday so the two teams playing Tuesday are always going to be on even rest.

Iowa shoots 3s but they won’t be able to guard us. I dont think NC State is that good even tho I love watching their fat guy. In Birmingham I fell pretty confident against either

Really early to do a deep dive into NCAA second round matchups.

Assuming there are no unexpected transfers, we're looking at

Back:

Chuck
Burnett
Griffen
Bradley
Sears
Pringle
Cosby

Maybe back:

JQ
Clowney

Gone:

Miller
Gurley
Welch

Incoming recruits:

Walters
Dioubate
Johnson

We also have a free scholarship because of Miles. So we have room for one more prep recruit (Parker or maybe a potential reclass) and then if Clowney and JQ leave, or if there are any unexpected transfers, we can hit the portal to fill those spots. Nothing at all to worry about in terms of numbers right now.

That'll be the key for our March run...the round of 32 matchup. Those 8/9 seed teams can be scary. I personally do not want to see a team like NC St but it is what it is.

We get past the first weekend and then I think we can really go on a run. Of course it's too early to really dive into this stuff. Still have to get through these two games plus the SEC tourney.
