Yep I see it now. Not sure if that will be enough or not. Guess we will see.

Other than the outstanding performance of the Tide in Nashville, one of the highlights for me was the chorus of boos that reigned down when it was announced that the media had selected the all tournament team. (Before the team was announced)

Can confirm, I was one of the many booing and it brought great pleasure.

In the 64-team era, there have been 36 teams to enter the tournament as a 1 or 2 seed that weren't ranked in the preseason AP poll. They have combined for zero Final Fours, averaging fewer than 2 wins per tournament.
Good luck to Purdue and Marquette.

UConn is a really tough team. Jay Bilas had them winning it all. Their bigs are a tough match up.
Yes, I don't want to see UConn, UCLA or Texas. UConn: because of matchups, UCLA: because of Cronin and their DNA, Texas: I'm not sure :-). Thankfully, none are in Bama's region nor can Alabama face any until the Championship game.

I generally don't give random stats like this much thought, but when it's a large sample size and the end number is "zero" and they don't even come close? I think it's pretty relevant. I mean look at that 2 seed list - holy smokes. We were one of only 2 of 10 to make it past opening weekend in the last 20 seasons.

Same with the conference tournament advancement vs Final Fours stat.

if I can find the thread again I'll share it but a user on reddit posted a breakdown of some stats similar to that one and through process of elimination we were 1 of the (I think) 6 teams listed to pick to win it all.

Our main negatives seem to be turnovers and coaching experience in the tournament, which was graded out as neutral basically anyways.

Our main positives were offensive and defensive efficiency both being in the top 20 and our ability to hit 3's.

Yikes weren’t we like 24th in the AP and unranked in the coaches?

We do all the "stable, consistent" stuff well - great interior defense, shoot 2s at a very high clip, shoot a lot of free throws (and shoot them well), offense rebound. As Oats likes to say, how many 3s we make (as long as its more than 2/3 for 20 or something) is just icing on the margin.

I still think that our biggest possible bugaboo for an earlyish exit is turnovers. And what is weird about us is you can't really ever know when to expect it, because we sometimes turn it over a lot against teams that don't force them and then don't turn it over at all against high turnover forcing teams. It's just kind of how in sync we are on offense.

Will Wade should get at least a 3yr show cause. How can he be hired with hanging this over his head?

Fortunately our turnover binge from the first half of the season eased up in conference play. We've still had a few stinkers, but for the most part we've been in the 8-13 range, which is where we're going to beat most teams. If we turn it over less than 10 times I'm not sure there's anyone who can beat us without having a few guys all have career best games all together.

Also, most of our turnovers lately have been the "acceptable" kind like charges, moving screens, or the occasional travel rather than guys just throwing the ball away for no reason, dribbling off their own feet, or making lazy passes.

I'm getting annoyed by all the national articles mentioning Miller's accomplishments coming with the caveat of his involvement in the capital murder case and mentioning the text he received, but failing to mention the earlier request for pickup and the timestamp of that text in relation to police dispatch
You can forget getting a fair shake from much of the media. Their approval rating is 24%, worse than any other profession of which I'm aware. I.e., no one cares what they think unless they are already disposed to believe what they are propagating.

And Alabama will NEVER get fair treatment from the local (state) media because of AU control, the regional (South) media because of jealousy and resentment, and from the national (especially NE and upper MW) media, because in their eyes the region and especially the state of Alabama is a guilty clan of hicks. How can they have anything nice without lying and cheating?

Yep - that was most of the turnover issue @ Texas A&M (charges). We turned it over more than you'd like against Missouri, but that's how they play and they are good at it. We also made them pay for playing that way by make 66% of our 2s (and 30% of our 3s, which gave us the margins like Oats says).

The way we score at the rim, and the way it forces teams to give up other stuff to stop it, is just such a huge piece of offense that other teams almost have to concede or concede 2-3 other things.

Isn't it true that AL.com is run by Auburn boosters ? I've always gotten that sense. When you have people like Scabs, Marshall and Goodman writing hit pieces all the time it makes perfect sense.

Sports people in B'ham have sucked for decades. Radio, TV and other media as well.
