that was most of the turnover issue @ Texas A&M (charges). We turned it over more than you'd like against Missouri, but that's how they play and they are good at it.

Yeah, I've got no issues with turning it over on a charge or a moving screen or anything like that. It sucks when it happens, but at least it's something the defense kind of forces you into. The ones that drives me crazy are when the pass goes right when the intended recipient goes left and it lands harmlessly out of bounds or when someone makes a dumb pass through a clogged lane that a defender inevitably gets a hand on. We've cleaned up the dumb, lazy stuff. Even most of JQ's turnovers lately have been the high difficulty pass that didn't work out variety. He probably should pick and choose his spots with those better, but at least it's a guy trying to make a play instead of just throwing the ball away.

Sears would be best served playing crash the paint with the dribble drive and hope to get fouled like JQ has been the last few weeks.

Sometimes it just takes an easy basket or two early for a shooter who is struggling to get it figured out.

I really think he is the difference between a F4 trip and a S16 exit.

What drives me nuts is Miller getting called for borderline charges. NBA players deserve NBA calls. The refs have allowed to the national media to impact their judgement calls when it comes to him. I 100% believe that.

Oh I know. I grew up there. The local TV stations suck. FOX 6 is awful. I haven't listened to JOX in years and my life is better for it. AL.com is what it is. An abomination.

Yep - huge difference in dead ball turnovers vs pick 6s. Last year and early this year we were constantly throwing pick 6 type turnovers in the open floor. Since about the Gonzaga game we've basically eliminated those all together.

I was yelling at the TV on the one where Marble (I think) jumped in front of him and was set for all of half a second before contact. I'm sorry, but that's not a fricking charge and it drives me crazy that most people seem to have just accepted that sliding under a driving ball handler with your arms crossed in front of you is a charge even if you aren't fully set until he's in the air or otherwise has no way of avoiding the contact.

Hopefully we can overcome biased officiating. The game at Texas A&M a couple of weeks ago was one of the most blatantly biased officiated games I've seen. A&M got away with a blatant goal tending play. The officials actually called one the other day. I was shocked. Not to mention they were hacking us on every play. Same way when we played at Tennessee last month.

If you really want a laugh, go look at at the contact on Miller whenever he's working away from the ball, and then compare that to the contact on charge calls he's picked up recently.

Thats what Oats has been complaining about. Says Miller gets fouled more without the ball that anyone he has ever seen. Also said next year Miller wont have to worry about that because they wont let you get away with that in the nba.
Speaking of Oats, he seemed to be in a pissed off mood the whole game. I guess he was already pissed about the mug ball that was about to be played and wanted to make sure we got in our licks. You can shove a player off the court under the goal and they wont call anything unless you are shooting. When teams line up to inbound under the goal, some players on defense have their arms completely around the player they are guarding. Crazy stuff going on. A&M doesnt get anywhere close to the same officiating on the road that they do at home, though. But, were they the team that hit 30 something free-throws in a row on us in Tuscaloosa last year?

I agree but I'm also over worrying about it.

Same. The pressure will only ramp up the farther the team advances. I’m assuming schools are required to have access to players, so all coach (and his parents) can do is have Brandon prepared for the onslaught.

What’s encouraging is the makeup of the team is such that it may galvanize them and propel Alabama to a national championship!

As an aside, I can’t wait for the pear to steal an LSU recruit

He really does. If you have any games recorded, especially either Arkansas game, UTk, or either Aggy game, watch one and just pay attention to Miller without the ball. It's horrible. College coaches know NCAA refs don't call off ball fouls very often though so it's an effective strategy to just grab ahold of him and not let him get away from you.

Well, we all know why the officials aren't calling said fouls.

the Miller foul at A&M when it was tied and he made it so we could've gone up 3 with 3:46 left was the worst. Miller wasn't even going towards the goal, he was sliding towards the baseline and the Aggie played slid under him and was not near set. We probably win if we get that call.

Not over it.

I think we want SEMO to win. They don’t have anyone that can shoot. A&MCC has 2 guys above 40% from 3.

I’ve never seen a 12 seed or lower win that couldn’t shoot

I know. But we can play Brandon and his groin a lot less if it’s SEMO.

But also…I’ve seen us as 2 seeds struggle with FAU and Iona.

I’m not giving him the click by linking it, but Goodman just put out another article, “With Alabama playing in Birmingham, the Harris family just can’t escape Brandon Miller”

Dude is an absolute clown that needs to be forever banished from the Alabama campus.

I just gotta put this out…..when the gun was retrieved from Millers car the Victim wasn’t on the scene. Her boyfriend brought her back there with his gun ready.

I see a lot of angles Miles and Davis lawyers could argue, ngl
