The only reason Bama hasn't lost more games is that Brandon Miller is good enough to drag this team to wins and JQ has shown his old explosiveness in getting to the basket in late game situations once the team accepts they aren't going to hit threes.

Disagree - it's because we play very good defense at the rim and we rebound everything. We also finish at the rim even when we aren't making outside shots. Those things give us a chance even in a road game vs a Top 20 team where we shoot 15% from outside, turn it over 20% of possessions and let them shoot 30 free throws.

Our struggles the last 4 games have certainly not just been shooting, but when you look at numbers.....the biggest outlier is outside shooting. Everything else is pretty much consistently the same as the entire season. We're just not making ANY outside shots.

And then they have the gall to call him for the following push-off on the defender who has had their hands all over him the entire possession. It pretty much confirms that it's not being missed, but is simply being allowed by officials.

I dont ever remember the officiating allowing this level of grabbing in the past.

It went from ACC style officiating to Big Ten style contact out of nowhere.

Honestly, it's insane we had a chance to win that game Saturday.

We had our worst eFG% shooting game of the year and our 6th worst turnover rate of the year which led to our lowest Pt Per Possession of the season (0.827). On top of that, A&M had the 3rd highest free throw rate (% possessions they shoot free throws) we've allowed all year.....and they made 27/28 of them!

And with ALL THAT....against a Top 20 team on the road....we were up 3 with 5 mins to play and down 2 with the ball with 2 mins to play.

And that's because we do a whole lot of shite well every night out that gives us a massive cushion for other things.

Stats since Brandon stuff came out (last 4 games).

- obviously the 3PT numbers jump out - nobody > 30% and Nimari and Rylan 1/23 (while also being the 2 guys who take the most 3s per possession). Throw in Clowney and the 3 of them are 3 for their last 35 (8.6%).

- Mark has a TO rate of 19.6 and an assist rate of 5.8. That is really bad.

- Jaden is 3/12 on shots at the rim and 3/16 on 2s overall. That is also really bad.

- Rylan, Bradley and Burnett both cant make a shot and are all turning the ball over at a 25+% clip (they turn it over 1 of every 4 possessions they handle it).

I hesitate to say this, but a lot of these numbers almost literally cannot get worse. I'm just going to keep hoping that these almost statistically impossibly bad numbers will move to the mean.

Been watching or listening to Bama Basketball since the C.M. Newton days... This is the best freshman class in my lifetime.

If we stay cold.. we may still make a run! But all of us will age 50 years and have stomach ulcers.

If we shoot our season average from 3, limit turnovers.. I believe we advance to Final 4.

If we get hot.. we win it all! ( I truly believe that for the first time in my life)

Agree - while the last 2 weeks have sucked it also has shown that our worst is still good enough to compete and even win against the caliber teams we will play the first 3 rounds.

It'd be cool if we didn't test that theory, but it's certainly not the worst news in the world

Unless I misread something, all of the SEC awards that he got were unanimous votes both the press and coaches.

I don't think the official AP SEC award selections have come out yet. Some other media have announced but the AP is the big one and the counterpart to the coaches awards that were announced today.

It all depends on how the officials call games. Miller has been getting absolutely assaulted and the officials aren't calling fouls. Of course we know why and it's complete BS. If officials call the games fair then Alabama can compete with the best teams in the country. And of course, make threes, limit turnovers and make free throws.

Exactly what I've been saying. We've seen our floor and our ceiling. And when you see our worst, the looking at all of the top 25 upsets over the last 2 weeks, it's comforting to know we can and do still win while we're playing shitty. Yes, the timing sucks. But while it's concerning, it's not worth freaking out about.... Yet.

Now if we be lose to Miss St, let the freak out begin. But still I think this team has the Gumption to get it together.

I see Tennessee's 9th loss of the season dropped them all the way to *checks notes*, nope, still at #3 in the NET.

This one made me laugh…I’m going to miss the checking UT’s net after losses from this season.

Loved seeing all the guys get the recognition they deserve. Crazy to think that Bama has 2 of the last 3 POTYs, SEC champs, etc. If we win this SECT, we’re one more sweep the championships in the next 2 years away from an SEC dynasty!!!

Just kidding…mostly

On MSU game Friday, it’s pretty common to see the team that played Thurs come out sharper than the team starting Friday. I won’t get nervous unless we are down with about 5 min to go. Our depth should be able to win the 2nd half.

This is true since they get to knock the rust off first

However if it goes like last time we played MSU in the second round and we just beat the brakes off of them out the gate

I won’t be upset

Good thing is, we can't get any rustier then we've been shooting the last 2 weeks.

Honestly, they've the team I didn't want to see in the first game. But going against their playing style right before the tournament may be beneficial. Because going against big, physical teams has given us trouble. Figuring out ways to win against them only helps our experience.

I'll still be cheering for Florida. But only because it's so satisfying kicking their arse. There's a good chance that's because I lived in Gainesville when they went back to back, and Gators love talking shite.
