I thought the consensus for Steele went without saying, by now.

The speed in which the defense gets to the ball and swarms the ball is night and day from previous years.
One thing that really stands out is the adjustments. Take the first drive from Georgia as an example. They adjusted quickly and looked great from that point on. If we opened up with a drive like that with Golding, the defense would be on it's heels all day long.
Also, did we see the defense not set, confused and looking for calls much at all this season? That was a weekly staple for the last several years.
They weren't perfect, but they were aggressive and looked like they knew their roles without delay this year.

Thinking Steele may retire after this season or next. I believe he is approaching 10 years with the Alabama retirement system and is therefore “vested” in the system where he can draw his retirement. TRob may be the DC in waiting.
Steele has definitely brought an “attitude” to this defense.

I’m among those RSA education retirees and I agree with what you said. I, however, used to work with one of his family members and they said that Steele had previously stated wanting to get vested in our system.
I don’t know if he has the similar contract structure as Saban, since our coaches aren’t out on the speaking circuits.
Who knows, he and Saban may have a deeper understanding and appreciation for one another and he may like his role better this time around and thus stay in it awhile longer.

Keep him as long as we can. He is not a HC as I believe he knows his best position is coaching defense, He is suited for it and is at the best place to finish off his career

In my head, Steele is way older than Saban, instead of being 7 years younger than him. I feel like their ages should be reversed.

If Nick Saban hires you three different times you are a pretty damn good football coach.

BOL has already touched on Bo Davis some. Getting ahead of the curve. He’s the highest paid assistant (non-coordinator) in the country and his contract runs through 2025. A very large buyout. Doubtful Alabama will go down that road

As a side note, with our OLB coach heading to Miss State, there are some hints that Roach goes to OLBs and we go after a particular DL coach that once was here and is wanting to come back.

If so let's hope TRob works out better than Tosh Lopoi or Golding.

My mom worked for the state. Her insurance is United Health Care and Medicare and she's 71 and just passed away. So I'm telling you her united health care is primary and Medicare secondary.

He's already done it before with Muschamp and done a pretty decent job relative to the talent they had on hand.

I rewatched highlights of the SECCG ...one glaring example, at least to me in the difference in Golding vs Steele. uGas last TD. They had to go for it on 4th down after having 2nd and 1ish Each time on 2nd and 3rd they attacked the ball carrier - going to him. How many times under Golding .. Were defenders waiting on the ball carrier, even waiting on the wrong side of the goal line. That may have been personnel but it sure seems like attitude diff in DCs

I'm sorry for the loss of your mother. Mine passed away in April.
Even when you know it's coming, it sucks.
United Healthcare is the Medicare Advantage plan for Medicare eligible retired state employees. If you still have her card, go back and look at it and you'll see that noted on it.
I'm a retired state employee too, but I'm not 65. My card is BCBS, but when I turn 65 it will become United Healthcare Medicare Advantage.
Here's the Alabama SEIB member handbook. If you go to page 26, about halfway down you'll find this statement (emphasis added by me):
Here's their page explaining the United Healtcare Medicare Advantage plan. Medicare advantage plans are simply where the Medicare benefits are administered by a private company instead of CMS (Centers for medicare & Medicaid Services) and the customer often gets Parts C, D, and other extras thrown for their premium.
CMS page explaining Medicare Advantage plans.
TL;DNR version - it's still Medicare just not with the red, white, and blue paper card.

And even though Georgia scored, by stopping them on 2nd and 3rd down, that bled the clock down quite a bit.

Yes - if you retire. But you do not have to retire at 65, and if you do not retire, you stay on your Peehip BCBS health insurance. When you retire, you move to a Peehip United Healthcare advantage plan(though that has switched back and forth between Humana and United in recent years) but one that allows you to provide a spouse coverage, unlike regular advantage plans or original Medicare and a supplement. All other Medicare, supplement, and advantage plans are individual only.

I suspect T Rob and Rees are the DC and OC leaders for the near future. Both quietly go about their jobs successfully.

Not sure I've ever been happier about a defensive stand that resulted in a TD for the opponent

He’s a lot better than Golding
