He doesn't really want to be here and thinks his ticket to a job promotion is to look "innovative" on offense...and running the ball isn't showing off his offensive "genius."
We have some good RBs...I know it's a QB centric offensive system, but we've really got to commit to the running game...especially with an inexperienced young QB.

He just a shite coordinator.
He’ll never get a new job at this rate. Look at all his best years as a coordinator. They’ve all had great QBs. If he doesn’t have a great QB that can do the thinking for him, he is shite up a creek.
I will say though, we lack WRs who can block. But I guess it doesn’t really matter if your tight ends fill the gap?

His first year at Washington they had a 900- and a 500-yard rusher and the year they went to the title game he had a 1,200-yard rusher. His stuff works better when there’s a running threat. It seems like he got away from that at Seattle and it cost him, and it’s going to cost him here.

We have an offensive line that is talented and capable enough to open holes for our running backs. Daniel Hill can easily get to 1,000 yards this season - especially with defenses now having to respect our QB's ability to make plays with his legs.
Grubb just needs to recognize that we don't have to throw it 30-40 times a game to win this year.

Apparently that was much ado about nothing, it was only out for a couple of plays according to Keelon. DeBoer seems to have made it sound worse than it was.

I think Grubb is a 6 or 7 out of 10 Coord.
I don’t really understand his philosophy at times.
One of the best playcalling half of football that I’ve ever seen was the one that Sheridan called against UGA at Bama but then followed it up with an awful 2nd half.
I think not playing a full game is a CKD thing. Not an OC thing.

Grubb reminds me of Golding sometimes. He’s probably a really good x’s and o’s guy, but he overthinks and it makes his players overthink.
Golding always tried to be the smartest guy in the room with complicated schemes that kept our defenses thinking instead of moving and it cost us.
Sometimes you just need to line up and punch your opponent repeatedly in the mouth, especially when you have better talent.
I really hope Grubb saw that second half and something clicks going forward.

Don't forget the 1st drive when he had his qb, in his 1st sec game when the crowd was absolutely the loudest, throwing backed up deep in our territory after a penalty and lost yards on previous plays. When he should have been protecting him by running and then punting.

I felt like that second half against UGA, they let up off the gas and played not to lose, which is a TERRIBLE decision unless you're up big and there's only 3 or 4 minutes to play and you're up by 28 or more.
Playing not to lose and letting up on the gas like that is flirting with disaster. I just don't get it.

With that being said…..
Russell was put in a position to make a lot of decisions on the road. He had quite a few RPOs where he made poor decisions.
The talent is there but game experience isn’t.
As an OC, hopefully Grubb learns from this and puts our boys in better positions

Silliest crap I’ve seen and it was after two productive runs. Dumb.
He also ran a sweep later in the game from the 2. Worked but a dumb play call IMO.
