Anyone overly worried about this team hasn't watched anyone else play. Plenty of top teams look like garbage right now.

I think the explosive plays will come. There have been some left on the table the past two games and the timing/execution has been just off, or the OL just hasn't given Young the time to find them. Williams and Earle will be big play receivers when they get that chemistry with Young going.

Yep - definitely not a certain long term issue, and it seems clear we have the athletes and QB to make it happen. But as you said, it all just seems a little off......which is completely understandable given the mass turnover.

One thing the Alabama OC does things little different. It's possible he went vanilla the last two weeks... Remember last year we started out hot, and team started to scheme for that early in the season. I think BOB is aware of that, and want to flip the script on them. I expect us to have expolosive offense by end of the season.

We most definitely did not go vanilla in week 1 - at least not the first half. And while we might have been vanilla in week 2, we didn't execute it very well against the sort of team we should be able to block and run past in the secondary.

It's a young group who isn't all meshed yet, but if we remain struggling to hit big plays the next 2-3 conference games will be tight.

I think he definitely went vanilla this weekend. Miami was really aggressive defensively and I think that had a big impact on the lack of explosiveness. Still, we were very efficient offensively for 3/4 of the game before we went to run clock mode.

They were trying to put pressure on a young QB and it failed. so, I feel like Miami gameplan was little different, and I definitely thought we went vanilla this past weekend. We'll know in next two games.

Do we have a single skill guy who will be drafted first round on offense? Probably Williams? Maybe Metchie? That might be it.
Congrats on the dumbest post of the week

This thread is type of example that Saban gets upset about. To many people including UA fans come in with expectations every year that the team simply reloaded and will not miss a beat but realistically that is not true and never will be no mater who returns.

Some need to get a grip on what to expect. We lost our Heisman QB who is replaced by a RS freshman with very little experience. We lost our top WRs, top RB, and 3 starting OL, and the expected starting TE is yet to start.

Yes we recruit well but they do not arrive on campus ready to start. Just maybe the offensive play calling is not looking for big plays yet but consistency and positive results for a QB that has big shoes to fill. Maybe the OL needs time to gel. Just maybe our coaches know what they are doing.

Currently our offense is getting 80yds less then last year per game. On the other hand our defense is allowing 110+ yds per game less and 20% roughly plays allowed by opposing offenses. We our averaging 46 points a game so far. Lets see how the season goes before we gather on the ledge.

That’s a lot of words to just say that Chris Owens sucks.

The Top 4 are Metchie, Hall, Williams, and Earle. Bolden shouldn’t play as much as he does

Racist!! JK I get it. He isn’t quite the athlete of the others but he is reliable IMO.

I respectfully disagree, Boz. Bolden is putting the ball on the ground too much and if he keeps on, it's going to hurt us,

Bolding mine.

I honestly don't remember ... has Bolden fumbled this year? Or dropped a pass?

He scored a touchdown where he dropped it once he crossed the goal line I guess it was close.

I just checked and no drops, no fumbles. So last year counts and he somehow didn’t get better. He paid the coaches to get on the field.

Folks be making stuff out of thin air... I don't remember him fumbling so much. all it takes is one fumble and folks will whine about it so much.

Feels a lot more like a typical Week 2 step back against a lower tier opponent after a big week 1 win. Add in the personnel and coaching turnover to the noted halfass effort in practice and you get last Saturday.

We'll see this weekend what kind of "team" we have this year. I think it will be a strong showing all around.
