Spread offense

Nope, this new offense is here to stay and if you don't run it, you get outscored every week.

not with the way they call games these days and the rule changes they have made in the last 10 years that all favor these kinds of offenses. Nothing is going to change without rule/ref changes

If you get away from it , you can forget getting elite WR talent and Tua’s and Young type players . Still not convinced you can’t have both . This year was the exception , not the rule

I wouldnt say Georgia is doin just fine. Their own fans are hating the offense. They have just had the benefit of being in the East and having a really good defense. The injury bug seems to skip them as well.

If by old offense you mean what Georgia is doing right now then no

I gotta admit I was slightly jealous watching Georgia play yesterday. Reminded me of our old teams that just pounded you on both sides of the ball.

I agree with you there. I am thinking Georgia will win that game by controlling the clock and smash mouth football. Fromm is a good QB too. He will have a great game against LSU defense. Hell if Ole Miss can score on them, you better believe Georgia can score that much.

Play action with QB under center will either pull the LBs in or freeze them providing the same separation for slants or the long strike.

As well as Bama and Tua has performed with the RPOs I've been of the opinion that play action with a QB like Tua, and 4 future nfl receivers would be devastating to college defenses and coordinators.

The rpo game feast on teams with less talent, but we saw what happened when an equally talented team was able to jam our wrs at the LOS and disrupt the timing - that rpo game went to shite.

Would have loved to of seen it, but that ship has sailed.

I would also add that keeping Tua under center more often would have made for a cleaner pocket i.e. harder angles for defenders to rush, and possibly limited the number of roll out/scrambles that he has been injured on repeatedly during his UA career.

In the end the inability to convince or train Tua to get rid of the ball was his and Bamas undoing. Tua simply never learned that you could win a down with a good throw away. Seemed to me his competitive spirit viewed a loss of down as a failure. In his defense though this coaching staff gave him every opportunity to fail e.g. throwing the ball in front of his own goal line with 26 seconds left in half is probably the blunder of the saban era. What a clear lack of good judgment on behalf the staff.

I too get jealous when I watch a team go 3 and out on 5 of 6 second half drives.
