Just from this week, a quick search showed Grubb, in Bama gear, out with DeBoer in:
Carrollton, GA
Jackson, AL
Mobile, AL(Senior Bowl)

Cole Cublic said he has talked to 18 assistant coaches and all said they want out of college coaching and will jump to the nfl if they get a chance. With NIL, college is 365 days a year of stress and hard work.

This I believe 100%

Going back to the town he's lived in the past few years for an NFL job with all that comes with it, and maybe more importantly now, all that does NOT come with it?
I wouldn't blame the guy one bit.

Yeah there would have already been a brain drain out of college coaching if there weren't so few NFL jobs and the Shield didn't LOVE retreads. A lot of people who have an option will get out the next few years. As always Saban adapts, better to get out a little early than a little late.

It's crazy to me that a big reason why Saban came back to college was that he missed having more control over player development, roster building, and stuff like that and now less than 20 years later you probably have guys going to the NFL for literally the exact same reasons.

Do I need to bust out the Eeyore gif again?

Until I see a picture of Grubb shirtless, with his upper body painted in houndstooth, standing in line at Archibald’s with Roll Tide Willy then I’m not convinced he’s our OC.

NFL coach is a much better job to have if you can hack it as a teacher and Xs and Os guy. College athletics is going to burnout a lot of good coaches and push them into the pros - further impoverishing both the college and pro game in the process - because these dumb shite administrators in college athletics won't lock themselves in a room until they devise a solution.
College athletics needs someone like JP Morgan who basically did hostage taking with the entire financial and industrial magnates of the US to devise a solution to avoid a devestating economic depression. Of course, he only needed to do this because the United States government lacked the administrative state to regulate and stabilize the economy.
It is really strikingly similar to college athletic's problem. The NCAA has been defanged by the courts, so it is incapable of mustering a solution. The power brokers of college athletics need to work out a market solution that government/courts will accede to as a replacement to the amateurism solution. I just don't think there is someone powerful enough to "lock them all in a room" in some fashion.

The one and only sighting of Grubb. He has not been with DeBoer otherwise.
Here they are together at Central HS in Carrollton, GA:
Oh, and here is a video of Grubb at Senior Bowl practice with the other Alabama coaches.

A CBA is the only way to get the court system to back off of striking down league rules it doesn't approve of. Problem is that once you make them employees and let them participate in collective bargaining you run into the issue of wildly disparate interests across various sports and the various subdivisions of college athletics. I just don't see how you get that to work. Like let's say the schools signal an openness to revenue sharing. On the athletes' side, how do you get the football and men's basketball teams that bring in like 90% of the overall revenue to agree to equal revenue sharing with the women's golf team that brings in like 0.001% of the revenue?

You got me. Two sightings. My bad. After an extensive internet search you have one more sighting than what I stated. My apologies.

Man, you’re an arse. Sorry someone doesn’t make a picture of Grubb every time he takes a step. Point is, he’s clearly been out recruiting for Bama this week. Not saying that means he won’t take the Seahawks job, but clearly he’s in Alabama and working for Alabama as of a couple of days ago.

If I don't see a daily tweet of Grubb eating a danish with a script A on it, I'm assuming the worst!

I don't follow the NFL, but it seems unlikely.
Either way, I was happy with the DeBoer hire before Grubb followed him. I'll still be happy if we have to find/promote someone else.

It's honestly becoming much less desirable for me as a fan, too. I'm sure there are many others that feel the same. I don't know why it was decided that college sports needed to be pro sports.
It's only a matter of time before it wrecks all sports, but I'm looking forward to college baseball season as it doesn't seem to have been overrun by as much of the NIL stuff (transfers - yes). Football and basketball are gone.

You just don’t have it in you to admit you’re wrong huh? There is definitely more than one or two photos of him out on the recruiting trail for Bama.
