I don’t understand how his coaches through the years have not taught him to catch the ball with his hands on passes.

He seems to try to catch a lot of passes like punt and kickoff returns. Which are more difficult for most people than catching a pass.

I’d rather him play for us than someone else we play!

put the pass in a place where he has no choice but to use his hands. avoid his chest as much as possible.

RCW should be playing but this kid maybe legitimately retarded. It’s all mental for him.

The signs are there…

- Painted nails
- Dino stuffed animals
- Needs to change his name and number to better catch the football.
- decides he needs to go raw and not where the stickiest gloves ever created where DBs are catching one hand passes.

He needs to wear gloves and get on the jug machine every day until he catches 1000 balls with only hands.

I have no clue why it isn't mandated from the coaching staff when they are a complete advantage

I wouldn’t let him leave the facility until he has caught at least 200 in a row.

Here's the thing. It isn't an ability issue. He keeps looking for contact before the ball gets there.

Jugs ain't going to help with that really.

Ive heard interviews with NFL receivers who are against jug machines, saying it messes with their timing.

RW obviously can catch the football.

His biggest problem is he has a jumping habit where he jumps for every single catch, which makes catching the ball more difficult - that and obv he's not catching with his hands.

The coaches should've spent all offseason correcting this, but they clearly didn't.

Well I take that back it's not solely eye placement. He also tries to catch with his chest way more than he should. That's what the jug machine could help with.

Probably because it's so obviously a mental thing with him that they're willing to let him try anything to get around it. You're not catching the hard ones if your hands are so bad that you belong on defense. Ryan is never going to have great hands like Smitty or anything, but he'd cut his drops in half (or more) if he'd get over whatever the frick it is that makes him so prone to dropping stuff that's uncontested. He needs a sports psychologist as much as any player ever has.

I’ve rewatched the game. If you thought the drops are the main problem, I’ve got bad news for you. His effort was terrible on most plays when Keelon needed scramble help, he is afraid of contact and won’t block.

He is 100% a liability but it isn’t because of the drops.

He’s too big of a liability with all the drops

His bigger liability is effort. If you watch The Film Guy, Brooks Austin on Youtube he just dropped a film analysis on the game and he thrashed RCW. He had some splash plays after the catch, but he was lazy in the blocking game. He ducked blocks on plays that would have been TDs had he made any effort to engage. Straight up avoided contact multiple times. He also stopped running on broken plays and took himself out of plays with low effort. His numbers look good but the film was very, very bad. He may need to sit simply because of how much tape there is with him giving low/no effort.

"The Film Guy" is going out of his way to rip #1 a new one for terrible effort and soft play. I personally will be glad when he is gone after this year. The NIL can be spent on a player that isn't so soft and tries harder. But the bigger issue is the coaches are allowing this soft-azz effort. Attitudes like that are a cancer.

He confirmed what has been obvious to any “ball knowers” - RCW doesn’t have that dawg in him.

Since this thread is kinda derailed anyway, I don’t mind starting a debate here: I believe Air Bud is a science fiction film. Fight me.

Yeah, after watching that tape, not sure why that dude has a C on his chest.

We should have known when he started painting his nails that he wouldnt want to block.

Bring on Cedarion Morgan. Put RCW on the outside and just let him try to take the top off the defense.
