such as who? I just can't recall any appointments to agencies that matter.
Here are 4 right off the top of my head that were regular state employees, two of whom I know personally and neither of which ever thought they would get the chance to lead an agency because all they did was be really good at their jobs.
Chris Blankenship, Conservation
Todd Cotton, Senior Services
Vern Barnett, Revenue
Hal Taylor, ALEA

over 650,000 people in AL voted for a guy that was fired from his 2 previous public office jobs for incompetence and molested children.

He's actually more of a globalist Socialist.

globalist Socialist.
Those two terms aren't inherently exclusive, but in modern use, they represent two vary different platforms. Globalist comes from neo-liberal economic theory, which is primarily supported by centrists.
Socialism is a democratic remedy (as opposed to a communist remedy) to conflict theory as described by Marx and C Wright Mills, primarily supported by far left liberals.
A globalist can be for socialist policies, but it is not typical since globalism relies so heavily on capitalism.
Though pure socialists are rare, they are strongly against globalism, as they are strongly against capitalism and corporations.
If you remember, the radical left of the 90s was largely against world trade organizations.

I'm well aware of the two terms.
If you Mr/Ms Fells new anything about Maddox, you'd understand those two terms describe him perfectly.
Have a nice day.

I don't know much about Maddox, other than his website and word of mouth.
I am struggling though to find any "socialism" in his rhetoric.
The closest thing I saw was accepting Medicaid expansion, which is still very far away from socialism.
Other than that, there's increased public school expenditures but it's not like he's suggesting making that any more socialist.

Does Maddox still carry around that ax handle?

It's suicide to run as a socialist in American society (for now). You call yourself a progressive or a liberal (a term FDR hijacked from classical liberals). The goal is incrementalism towards big government.

Still not sure what he has to do with this.

The poster was referring to reprobates doing well in elections, and I brought up a D.C. mayor who was filmed smoking crack with a prostitute BEFORE he was last elected...picture getting any clearer yet?

If someone is trying to paint Maddox as a socialist in favor of big government, I'll point out he's actually reduced the size of Tuscaloosa's administration(relative to revenue growth), while improving many of the services. He's a big proponent of efficient government, which is a much better goal than "big" or "small" government.

Not really. Your post made it sound like either it was ok because DC did it, it was ok because Democrats did it, or at least in your opinion worst people have been elected (albeit in another region). So yeah, I'm still not sure what he has to do with elections in Alabama.

It's just more stupid whataboutism that serves no purpose other than to justify that actions of horrible people either side supports.
