My question is do we have any facts that show Alabama actually had real interest in Lanning? I have only seen message board rumors, media speculation, and Lanning has yet to state he was in consideration and stated he was not leaving.

There is plenty of talk about him. I heard something about a meeting but I think it was a scam. Anyway. Here we are.

I’d rather let Kiffin bang me than hire Locks.

Lane, if you’re reading this while waiting on some phone calls, the offer is valid, you just have to come to Montana in winter.

Ask yourself. Why would he say he is not coming if never approached? Did any other coach say something today?

Because it was all over everywhere that he would be the guy. And people were reporting he was in a city that he was not in.

Cash in on the media exposure while you're the hot name and work recruiting.

Gotta take advantage of opportunities, even if you aren't the real target. That said, I do think he was a target.

Also, the silence from pretty much every other coach speaks volumes as well. There are a lot of guys in the mix that could be in negotiations.

Because it was all over the media. He was probably waiting for the call. It never came and finally heat made him issue a statement.

At that point he's going to just say how much he loves Oregon and that he is staying.

If he really wasnt interested he could have texted it last night.

He was waiting for an offer.

He never said he turned us down because there was no offer. But he doesn't come out and say there was no offer so as to be the hero.

I think with Terrance Ferguson committing to FSU we can put the Norvell rumors to bed.

I mean, usually if another program tries to hire your coach there's a contract extension and raise on his desk pretty fricking quickly. Sexton has made his fortune by exploiting this. Lanning hasn't signed one, which leads me to believe there were never any discussions between him/his representative and Byrne. There's no way he wouldn't use a call from Byrne to leverage Oregon even if he never intended to leave.

And to be honest, this last season was grueling. It was a real grind for us to come from where we stared to where we got to. It took a little more out of me than usual. When people mentioned the health issue, it was really just the grind.”

Says there's no illness. "Just, can you sustain the season from a mental grind point?"

This is probably the lowest productivity rate in the history of the state of Alabama. Even Auburn fans are wearing out their F5 key.

DeBoar and Sark with some of the best odds now. I bet Sexton is wheeling and dealing right now.

Lol. Sexton represents every one of our targets.
