Yes.

Imagine your typical online Gump. Then imagine a person who can barely use the internet. That’s probably a good chunk of our fanbase.

Guy from 24/7 sports claims to work with the university and says there is already a coach and that it just hasnt been announced yet. For whatever thats worth. I have also seen this on reddit as well.

Sexton hasn't had time to get his coaches a pay raise yet. It'll be a day or two.

Dabo is not on the list, I repeat Dabo is not on the list, he is closer to retiring than being the Alabama coach. Take that to the bank

DeMeco Reportedly said he isn’t interested in CFB. NFL only guy.

I understand what you’re saying from a process standpoint but I’d argue Bama basketball does not equate in any way shape or form to Bama football post Saban.

Resources
History
Roster
Brand recognition
Etc

Yeah, the hiring process doesn't have to be different, but rolling the dice with the football hire is a totally different ballgame than rolling the dice with the basketball hire. We were coming off like 15 years of total mediocrity. If Oats had been a shite hire, nothing really would have changed. If you roll the dice with the football hire and end up with another Mike because you have a good feeling about him you're risking your job, other people's jobs, and the health and wealth of the entire athletics department. The considerations are totally different because the stakes are not even remotely comparable. And I say this as someone who loves basketball and wishes the university would put more money into it.

This is a Greg Byrne coaching search. There is exactly one person who knows what the list looks like. There’s also probably 4 people who know where current negotiations stand in any case (Byrne, Finis St. John or some attorney equivalent, the target coach, and the target coach’s agent).

Of course, I'm not saying he's getting a no-name guy, I'm just pointing out that he's shown the precedent of being extremely thorough and generally silent, and that he'll not just consider knee-jerk names.

I love love Mal Moore, but Mal Moore wasn't going to make a Nate Oats hire.

Byrne is much more like an analytical executive, which I think is a good thing given what's at stake.

Comparing college basketball and college football was your first mistake.

From a recruiting standpoint?

Comparing Alabama football and Alabama basketball was another.

Agree completely.

As far as football recruiting goes:
-Kiffin: west coast
-Kelly: NE
-Saban: Midwest
-urban: Midwest
-Heupel: plains
-Stoops: Midwest

I’m not saying I wouldn’t prefer someone with SEC recruiting bona fides, but there’s no evidence to show it’s a pre req to have recruiting success.

If you can recruit, you can recruit.

Going from Saban to Norvell would be the biggest downgrade in Bama history.

I refuse to believe that's an option. He will be booed when he gets off the tarmac if that happens.

Hate Norvell is even an option. Acted like a whiney baby and always does those corny team meet half time speeches. Plus lost a ton of current players to the portal and quit on his team against Georgia
