Byrne said today that he flew out to Seattle on Thursday. I think it's entirely possible that DeBoer was actually the only person ever seriously contacted and everything else was just Sexton blowing smoke.

I seriously don't know how anybody could not like this hire. This is about as good as it gets for a replacement. It's hella impressive what he's accomplished in such a short amount time at the D1 level.
I've seen people comparing him to Urban Meyer and it's hard not to see the similarities. Hopefully he doesn't come with the panic attacks tho

I’m quite sure there were talks going on before that. I’ve thought it was preposterous to think that 5 coaches turned down Alabama within a day of Coach leaving. I think he was the first choice.
Anyone thinking that a multimillion dollar, complex agreement can be in place (at least the top part) in a day or two is just nuts.
