If you really pay attention to football coaching, youll see that there are coaches who paid their dues and excelled at every small job they were ever in, and there are the guys that had the meteoric rise because they either were a good player or they started as a GA at the right spot and everything fell into place perfectly for them.

The "paid his dues" guy always turns out to be the more consistently better coach. Saban was that guy if you look
at his career...yet there are those on this board who would have rather had a 30ish co-DC instead of one of the best coaches in the country. These are the finebaum caller level people who are clowns. They can make every correct program decision from their couch...but cant lose weight to get off their diabetes meds

I did not see the Q and A with reporters, but I saw all of the introductions and all of CKD's comments.

I thought he knocked it out of the park. He said everything that needed saying, honored everyone who needed honoring, talked about his football coaching style, the importance of championships...

I honestly don't know what else the guy could have possibly said for any of our critical fans.
