Anyone criticizing or salivating over a coach just based off of a press conference is just dumb imo.
On field results is what impresses me and how he relates to his team! While not my first or second choice, I'll get behind Coach and support him during his journey! He's representing my school first and foremost and that means a lot to me!

Some might not know but DeBoer was a really good football player, and an even better baseball player.

He batted .550 at Sioux Falls, still a record til this day.

I’m looking for genuineness. Not fake country accents or bravado…I saw that with DeBoer. He’s legit. All going to come down to recruiting ultimately. Having that script A will help him.

Byrne said he was 10-1 against the top 25. This dude has one hell of a coaching resume.

At Washington. He's 12-2 overall including Fresno. Dude wins big games.

It’s not THAT you disagree, it’s that what you’re saying seems baseless and like you just want to be a contrarian

But it did jump off the screen to me when he started talking about the goal is to win SEC and National championships. The foundation of the program and the kids that were recruited here is blind to end goals.

Well, you must have hated Nick Saban's introductory press conference where he talked about everything being done with the goal of being a champion. Newsflash: Champions are people who win championships. Or did you think Saban was talking about Butch Jones-type life champions?

He hit over .500 his Senior year at Sioux Falls and played a year in an independent league after college.

I think DeBoer is a homerun hire. He seems to understand the brevity of the situation he's in. It would make anyone emotional. When Saban came to BAMA, it was in shambles. He was the right guy for the job to get it changed. DeBoer isn't being asked to change the program from mediocrity to greatness. He's being asked to keep it at a high level. He was emotional because the best college football program believes he is the guy for the job.

Anyone here ever been told that their work is worthy of the best position in their field?

My question is, Can he coach baseball at BAMA, too?

Imagine being such an emotional mess that you could be this swayed, good or bad, by a few words at a perfunctory press conference.

DeBoer sort of addressed that concern when he just said "We're gonna focus on the process" in a response to a question. "We're focused on not winning, but on the process. I know that's how Saban did things, I heard it from the players."

Imagine if he came here like Brian Kelly did with the fake accent, LMAO. I swear that man came to LSU with a completely different personality than he had at Notre Dame and it was so jarring to see. Guess he had to keep a Catholic school boy image at ND, cause one minute he was stoic and the next he was partying on a 360 cam and dancing.
