DeBoer should hit the ground running with this team. Let’s say he drops the Wisconsin, Georgia, and two of LSU, Tennessee, Auburn and Missouri games. Finishes the season 8-4. What are the thoughts? Normally a first year coach gets a pass. With the talent we have does this apply to DeBoer?

What do you think is the least acceptable outcome for this year?

I think it all totally depends on what roster he is working with this season.

I don’t think he gets fired if we go 8-4, regardless.

If we lose to Wisconsin we're in fricking trouble.

First season is a mulligan...but prefer he not need one. No reason Bama can't be really good.

We aren’t losing to fricking Wisconsin. And if we do, yeah I think you could press the panic button.

guy took a 4-8 washington squad that had an average recruiting ranking of 87 and won 11 games the next season. hes not going 8-4, no way we lose so much of our roster that happens. Even if we lose guys like downs, this will be the by far the most talent hes ever had to work with

We might lose 2 this season. We have a stocked team.

Some of you are showing how spoiled you really are this is ridiculous. How about we see who Bama loses, coaches he brings in before we hit panic mode. I like the hire and am willing to give the man time to get his stamp on the program.

Worst case scenario would include losing to Mercer if you really want to commit to your little doomsday thought experiment thread

Everyone in this thread has said we’re not losing to Wisconsin. I don’t think we are either, but the entire point of the thread is what if we do? Anyone see us losing to Louisiana Monroe Saban’s first year (no I’m not comparing this team to the ‘07 squad so calm down). My question is how much leeway are you giving DeBoer? What’s unacceptable?

He's getting at least 2 years and that would be if he did something egregious.

3 years is usually the sweet spot to see if a guy is going to work out or not.

Losing to someone like La Tech and we should really worry.

I’m ok w/ a down year if it’s followed up with a good recruiting class and the removal of staff that ain’t cutting it.

The talent level on this year's team is light years ahead on the 07 team.

If Alabama goes 8-4 with the current talent, the hot seat is on fire and it's a massive disappointment.
