JaMo had 1600 yards and 15 TDs last year, just sayin.

Jamo and Metchie were tearin it up last year. We were the best team in the nation, and we shredded Georgia's defense.
Unfortunately when those two went down with injury, we had NOBODY else who could do jack shite. We have essentially the same WR corps this year that couldn't get anything done in the NCG last year, so idk why anyone is surprised.

To all of the people who think it's absurd to expect us to have elite WRs every year - no it's not. We recruit better than anyone. it's absurd that we don't have a single elite guy on our roster when all of the other top programs do.

I wouldn't say this is our biggest issue. Our biggest issues are poor coaching and lack of leadership, but WR has been a glaring weakness

Route trees and passing schemes are the same as last year when JW lit it up. It's time to face the fact we have a bunch of JAGs at wide receiver.

(BoB needs to be gone more for his run game/game strategy waaaaay more than his passing game shortfalls)

Exactly.

Burton and Harrell were supposed to fix the problem and Burton's underperformed and Harrell has been hurt. Aaron Anderson who is probably our best freshman wr has been hurt too.

We should be able to get a couple of good ones through the portal this off-season. Malik Benson seems like he is gonna be legit. The coaches seem to think Isaiah Bond is gonna be good eventually.

WR and OL play have been the worst we’ve had since 07.

We have playmaker. What we don't have is a competent OC who knows how to properly utilize them.

I’m under no illusion that any these guys are on the level we’ve seen in the recent past.

But it’s 2022. I know for a fact this team has good enough receivers to have a really good passing attack with Bryce and a halfway decent OC.

I asked my dad this question the other day when he was shitting on the receivers..

How many times did a defense absolutely bust a coverage and leave a receiver open for a walk in TD or long play?

I genuinely can’t think of a SINGLE time. Going an entire season without one busted coverage is the biggest indictment of an offensive scheme I’ve ever seen.

Our WR evals and development have been pretty bad lately. No reason we should not have 1-2 absolute studs out there causing chaos for secondaries. None of our guys can even get separation and they all suck at run blocking. The only promising guys are freshmen still learning the position.

Some of this is on Bryce. I watched them this weekend and they would have openings but Bryce doesn’t throw them open like Mac and Tua did. I don’t know if it’s his arm or what but he misses quite a few of these plays a game. Mac wasn’t.

I’ve been trying to tell people for weeks a lot of this is Bryce’s fault. He’s been wayy to hesitant to throw the ball. We’ve had open receivers since the lsu game and they’re not getting a chance to catch the ball in rhythm.

You can't succeed in modern college football without a star receiver. None of these guys who've played this year have star potential. None of them get consistent separation or take the top off the defense. If you don't have at least one guy that can do that, you're passing game won't be sufficient to win a championship.

Some of these guys we have our decent players. I don't mean to disparage them. But you have to have at least one star receiver. Finding one either in the transfer portal or recruiting should be a top priority this offseason.

OL is head and shoulders better than it was last year. Watch the LSU, UT or AU game last year if you doubt it.

Still not back to where it needs to be, but part of it is that teams don’t respect our vertical passing game or feel the need to double any of our receivers like they did in years past which gives them more latitude to come after the run game and blitz Bryce up the middle.

How did we go from Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith, Waddle, then Williams and Metchie,
all of those guys played with a competent ic who worked to get them open by scheme. Sark for instance based everything we ran on getting the skill players up to speed and moving to where defenders were not. Bob has our guys running stick routes into double coverage

Our offensive play calling sucks. South Carolina does a better job with creative routes than we do. But, we have way more WR talent than South Carolina.

Rolltide.com has Harrell as a redshirt senior.

Maybe he gets an extra year because of the Covid year exception?

Bryce Young is not a good QB when it comes to deep ball accuracy.

Our main problem is Golding, LBs, and secondary. To’o To’o is driven back 10 yards every run play. Secondary look like lost freshman.

Go look at the routes South Carolina's WR run then look at our guys. Talent isn't the problem. It's all coaching.
