I think barring an injury pileup, we should easily make the playoffs.

I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume we are an 8-4 type team until proven otherwise.

New qb, haven’t proven we can run the ball for shite, and have shown a tendency to stink it up against lesser competition.

I think we have 10-2, 11-1 potential, and I hope it happens, but could see 8-4 pretty easily.

I think playoff aspirations are 100% on the offensive and defensive line refactor this offseason.

We seem to be going bigger on the DL to hold up against the run better. We are poised to play two 300+ lb guys in the middle again and the strong-side end is going to be 298. On paper, we're looking more like a Saban-era odd front. We ought to hold up a good bit better against the run if the guys play like Tarzan not Jane.

The offensive line is harder for me to believe we're going to see a big difference. It's easier to believe a body type shift on the DL is going to pay dividends on the bottom line metrics for the defense. The defense was generally pretty good for most of the season but the lightness on the front got us bullied a few times when the offense couldn't keep them off the field.

I think we have better athletes for the system now than the first two years but this OL is full of inexperience. What experience exists has not played a real game together since most of it was imported experience. I'm hopeful we see something much better than 2024 and 2025. However, what little tape I've seen is mixed. It felt like some of those highlight throws were probably sacks in live action (of course some of the sacks were probably scramble throws or runs too). However, I think we're better at LT athletically (in the ways that matter for an LT) than a year ago and Carroll moving inside to get James on the field seems like a good "find your best five" move.

We will see...if they're just average I think we have the perimeter talent to be a great overall offense with a mediocre run game. We've seen that work even against some of our best Saban squads with Watson's and Lawrence's Clemson offenses.

The bad taste of getting mollywopped in the Rose Bowl and SEC Championship has caused most to forget that we won 11 games and were the first road playoff game winner of the 12-team playoff era.

Fair enough but you're right to point out that this isn't Shula levels of accomplishment.

Neither of these guys will play QB at the same mental level as Ty Simpson last year.

Did you make this assumption by your direct relationship with these guys or monitoring their progress in practice?

In the end Keelon is a first pick level player so even if what you stated is true his abilities are so versatile and excellent he makes us that much better.

Who gives a shite.

Did Mr Pickell have Bama going to Atlanta for the SECCG and reaching the Rose Bowl last year?

You, or one of the 8 basement dwellers that watch “JD Pickell” from “YouTube”, should advise him to wager a large sum of money and take the “under” on Bama’s projected win total.

Surely thats a much more efficient way to make money than hoping thousands of people will eventually subscribe to Mr Pickell’s YouTube channel.

It's called an opinion. And in my opinion we wont see either of these guys making audibles at the line like Ty. You wont see them getting through their reads as quickly either.

I hope Im wrong and whoever is at QB (probably Russell) is an absolute maestro . But neither of these guys were close to doing it last year and that's why Ty won the job overwhelmingly in the spring. If you see it differently, i'd like to know how.

To be clear, im not expecting Milroe type shite from any of the guys on the roster. Im just giving Ty credit for knowing how to run the offense at a high level.

I guess I’m an old fart because for half of my life beating Tennessee and Auburn was a good season.

Outside of probation years, I don't ever remember calling "we beat Auburn and Tennessee" a good season. I want us to beat everybody.

This year will tell what we got with DeBoer.
If we make progress from last year he’s the guy for the foreseeable future. If we take a step or two back from last year however, the pitchforks will be around every corner. Fair or not that’s how this will go.

Yep. 3 years is enough time to know a football coach's ceiling.

Well seeing how beating them usually meant we were legitimately contending, I don’t think it was as much about UT and Auburn but the level completion we were hanging at.

He was definitely great at the mental part of the game. But physically, especially after his injuries, he was holding this offense back. Couldn’t hit the deep ball, couldn’t escape the pocket consistently, and had a slower release than the other 2 guys. Especially Keelon. I think Keelon’s ability to escape the pocket and his ability to get rid of the ball quickly will immediately help this offense, and I believed it would’ve last season as well. I thought Simpson should’ve been benched sometime after the Mizzou game. Would it have been fair to Simpson? No, but when you have a talent like Keelon on the bench, and your QB is struggling and battling injuries, you put the kid in. But that’s in the past and I can’t wait to see how Keelon performs this season. I think he carries us to the playoffs, and if the offensive line improves, who knows how far this team will go

It won’t be horrible but I expect us lose 4 games this year.
