****Please note the date of this post... This was about the team last year. Not the current team. I stand by what I said ABOUT LAST YEAR'S TEAM. LOL!!****

This team is so bipolar. We can blame refs and lack of leadership, young team, lack of heart... but at what point do we look at the coach? This is getting ridiculous.

It’s always on the coach. Period. He’s being paid millions to win.

You’re going to get downvoted but you do have a point. I agree that every player on this team is arse, but all he’s done this year is bitch about how he doesn’t know how to get through to them, and can’t figure out why they won’t give effort. That starts out as a refreshing dose of honesty but at some point it becomes a bad look.

I'm worried. Talent evaluation, game management, technical fouls.

IMO Nate got a little too arrogant and things fell apart.

If you go back and look at the season, the air handshake after the Houston game was a bad look and things went downhill after that game. Sure we beat Baylor at home but they just lost to a 14 loss Oklahoma in the Big 12 tournament.

Oats is gonna have to realize that staying on top is a constant, year round effort.

I think he hopefully learned a lesson about building a team with chemistry. This team had none

He's not been good this year. Point blank.

But this is also a team of guys with physical and mental limitations that seem to exponentially build on each other.

I question a lot of his coaching this year however I am glad the program is to the point of making the Dance on a down year. But I definitely hoped for much more from this team.

Bama is 9-10 since the beginning of the new year. Talent is there…coaching isn’t!

I also think style of play is an issue. The “eye candy” offense is sexy and appealing to a lot of players, but sound, fundamental basketball wins. If players aren’t willing to get down and dirty for rebounds, lose balls and defense, we won’t win consistently in the SEC. jmo

We didn't have any issues with that last year.

Nope. John Wooden couldn't coach these dumb fricks.

Oats hasn't done a great job this year, but I don't think you can say he's done a terrible job. He's kept the bottom from falling out and landed the plane despite most players significantly underachieving from what we expected coming into the year.

No Oats is not the problem. Certainly not yet. What he has done so far is simply remarkable. He is not a finished product by any means; he is a young coach that is still learning. As long as he learns from what went wrong this year and does not repeat the same mistakes , he is on the right path. He has the potential to be great.

FOGs gonna FOG yall.

The problem is we don’t have any length on defense. Our Guards are all small and can’t guard anybody. Nimari Burnett and Josh Primo would have fixed all these problems. Oats counted on having both so he could “hide” JQ, JD, and Shack defensively and he got neither.

Offense is top 15 in the country scored over 80ppg and that’s with turning the ball over nonstop and Missing open shots nonstop.

Oats will learn and come back with a better group next year
