On RCW TD, the announcers went through every block on the perimeter with the "rules expert" to check for any holding. WTF was that?

McDonough and McElroy over-analyzing, which they do more than most. McElroy is scared he might leak some Bama bias, so he goes postal in the other direction.

McDonough was in rare form this weekend. He may mention a thing or two in passing, but this week he was hyperventilating - giving the impression that the refs were bias. That is not only unfair - it feeds the lunacy of other fan-bases that there is a bias in our favor.

Did they notice the godawful holding that literally prevented a sack on what ended up being a touchdown pass in I believe it was the second quarter? I remember the fans boo'ing, not because of the TD, but because the dumbass refs didn't flag it. We thought for sure that play was coming back.
Three weeks in a row we've been fricked until our assholes started bleeding by the zebras and they want to point out a potential missed hold? Lol frick Cuckelroy.

It's a good thing data tells a different story as we've been one of the most penalized teams in the nation since 2015 while our opponents are among the least penalized.
I assume success forced people to turn a blind eye and only focus on the one or two times we got away with something. For example, the first national championship game with UGA... We were hammered because a receiver or TE got an early jump on what ended up being a touchdown play. Yet no one said a word when UGA got away with the exact same thing earlier in the game after their right tackle jumped early on their first touchdown play of the game. Like literally NO ONE pointed that out. Prime example.

I watched a replay of the game and mother of God, FSU several times practically tackled Devon Thompkins and it was right in front of a ref. No call.
Yes, there is holding often in a game but the good players are discreet about it or grab but let go quickly. What I get enraged about is situations like above where our guys are flagrantly held and NO CALL.
What I think should happen at the coin toss, our guys should each have a tube of Chap Stick and excessively apply it to their lips while the toss is happening. When the ref asks our guys, "What are you doing" our guys should respond, "We like to get kissed before we get f*cked.".
Either that or have our team captains roll out a 50 gallone drum of vaseline on a dolly. When asked by the refs what that's for, our guys can reply, "We'll need this when we get fisted by you later today."

I'll never forget that time a Michigan site did a deep dive on how often holding is called across CFB, and against who, to prove how hard they were getting fricked by the refs. Turned out they were in fact getting a bit of a raw deal, but we were so far outside the norm it was realistically impossible for it to happen naturally, i.e. the crews were obviously getting together pre-game and deciding not to call holding on our opponents for a number of years. I don't think it's that bad anymore, but there's still years of built in bias going against us.

We were shafted for years on open dates, penalties and opponent's penalties.
A couple years under CNS we were last in the country in opponent's penalties.
In the natty game where CU picked us to win late they ran around 100 plays and we had several 1st round picks on the DL that are still starting in the NFL.
They didn't get called for holding once.

It was a pretty clear hold that wasn't called on the TD.

The thing that irritates me about McElroy is that he knows a lot of the shite he's saying is bullshite because he fricking contradicts it depending on his audience. He wants to be Jay Barker on the radio and Kirk Herbstreit on TV. He's a disingenuous little weasel like a politician.

The Mcelroy hate on here is so annoying. Dude loves Bama, but because he isn't sucking off Bama every second he is in front of a camera or microphone, our sensitive fanbase just can't handle it.

Yea that’s not what happens at all. Rece Davis is a 51% biased towards Alabama media type. In the playoff shows he will hint at data and questions that are favorable to Alabama that are just logical data points the committee needs to answer to.
Herbstreit is similar with Ohio State. I’m sure Greg does love Alabama, but for years he’s actively attempted to appear non biased instead of….just being non biased.

Haha I remember this. Wasn’t it Tim Williams, Ryan Anderson, and John Allen that rarely had holds called against them for 2 seasons? So outrageous

It was a bit over the top. I will admit, though, if we were on defense on the same play I'd have been pretty pissed if a holding wasn't called on that.
And it seemed to me that McDonough was the one hung up on it and some of the other penalties.
