I was there for a long while. Loved the group. It got to be too much to go between here and there with updates so I moved here permanently.

He, dd4, deserved it. He was a disingenuous fool. After enduring all of the pre-Saban misery, most Bama fans were so thrilled when Bama first revived under CNS. Rather than join in the revelry that fraud began to complain that Saban had stirred up the rest of the SEC and thus Bama was now in "real trouble".

There was a late emerging UF poster: Seaton. He and I had some doozies (as I had with dd4). This was a year or two before Urban shrunk away from the SEC with his tail between his legs. What misery he has endured these last 10 years.

I remember the in-game thread for the 2011 GOTC. It was a pure civil war.

pretty much any game thread is that the home team isn't leading from get go. It's one reason I generally avoid forums during a game. That and I'd rather actually watch the game than a message board.

A few of the core group:

T&B (AKA PowHounD)
CrimsonChris
CrimsonFever
BigBam3
NastyNate
SgtLincolnOsirus
NJRT
TideStalker
AtomicPunk
HannibalLecterMD
Bamachine
Kingpin
BamaRabbi
Snout

It should be mentioned TidalSurge, CrimsonChris, TideStalker, and Myself built the GOAT Bama recruiting board that has ever existed there. It was hidden. You had to have at least 200 post, and know the secret handshake to even access it. Every prospect had their own thread.

Then on the main board I would build the game week threads which had practice notes and videos, and all the headlines of the week. Every week I started over with a fresh thread which is how we should start doing it here during the season.

I also built the great moments in bama history thread originally there, but moved it to TerryP site called RollTideBama before Woolly went up in flames.

Woolly also had a pron forum.

A lot of laughs on TideSprotz and Woolly

Woolly was the rated X version of TideSprotz IMO. You had to be able to hold your own, or that place would eat you alive. It was less moderated than the Rant.

TS for the last year or two.

WoollyAl until Blacklab gave it to AHM. Then that temporary forum we were on. Then the 2nd WoollyAl. I rebuilt the recruiting form from WoollyAl 1.0. It was mostly copying and pasting from work TidalSurge had done on the previous incarnation. Then something happened to WoollyAl 2.0, a server crash or something. I never made it back over to 3.0.

I don’t post much here but I remember Tidesports. That was the first message board I ever joined. dd4bama was a Richard Head. Ed was a legend.

I lurked there during the first version. Tried to get involved in the second go round until the emergence of a private area for folks that had contributed financially to get the site up and running. I posted my displeasure and got banned.

I never felt like the second try ever really amounted to much of anything.

This place is significantly better than wooly al.

i was on tidesports. signed up to woolyal, but dont think i ever posted. i remember my first foray into anything of this nature was the blog that bamadog had. i thought i'd found bama heaven. then it was memphistiders blog during the saban search. they led me to tidesports, which i loved. i was so happy to find tigerdroppings after the tidesports kick to the curb. love it here too
